JE:SE, game won't start, no error message.

It creates an error log, but it's very short.  I'm at a loss, I can't seem to find ANY body else who is having this problem.

Here's the log:

Have you installed/updated DirectX 9?

If that doesn't fix it, I suggest to take a look at what Windows' Event Viewer says.

Yes check that direct x is installed.
Easy to figure out if you run the command prompt: "dxdiag" If it does not even open then install Direct X 

Also check and make sure the that the: "Dialog.tlk" file is in the Jade Empire directory. If not try a reinstall.
