But how does that explain Salamander!Architect? Was he trying to clone the population, or turn wardens into an amphibious race?

And who holds dominion over who? The Architect or Sandal?

You know, the pillars in the final battle of Legacy did look like heat lamps...

Well this is the deal the Architect wants: to turn all of humanity into half darkspawn and half human.   Image IPB

I always wondered what happened to Duncan after Ostagar, since you never do find his dead body or any indication of if he even survived or not.

I have yet to read the book, so I'm only going off what I know from the games. It seems like there's missing links between the games and the books when it comes to the Darkspawn and the Taint. The regeneration thing is scary, but then considering how old and strong the Architect is, growing back a hand probably isn't all that difficult.

But if he has the properties of a salamander, I wouldn't let Sandal get anywhere near him >_>

I thought it was kinda strange that even Corypheus doesn't want Sandal harmed or is that Janeka in her instructions to the carta or both?

It also bothered me about Duncan too.  I also had the thought that Duncan could have been the smith at Soldiers Peak with Levi Dryden.  Levi says that his cousin came out of hiding.  Yet, Mr. Gaider I believe has confirmed that Duncan is indeed dead.

You really should read the books, they are very interesting.  They aren't that expensive and you can find them on Amazon for a reasonable price.  I can't wait for the new book to come out.

Yes, in legacy, you pick up a note on them breaking into hawke's home and this could be the reason for the guy breaking into your mansion.  The notes says they are not to harm Sandal.  I haven't played legacy in chapter one yet so I don't know how this applies living at Gamlen's house.

I also can't wait to find out why the Empress has offered Sandal a job.

I can't spell or type to save my soul, sorry more edits.

Filament - it's some overheard carta banter, I think. I've seen mention of it but didn't experience it in-game yet.

edit - or it's a note.

Yes, all of my tours through Legacy so far have been with post saved games.  I only have one character that is sitting in chapter two currently.

I'll see if I can find the note in my jouranl.  It will take me awhile so hang on.

Edit:

Ah no, I'm wrong on this, the note in the journal is called:  To Capture Hawke.   The note talks about Bethany or Carver.  The instructions are for the carta finding both of them and they are not to be harmed according to Coryephues orders.

So I think Why is right, it must have been a voiced dialogue about Sandal.   I do recall something about Sandal not being harmed by somebody.  Maybe I have this confused with the beginning of the deep roads expedition and when Sandal gets lost.  Image IPB  Maybe I read the note and didn't pick it up or it didn't save in my game right?

It's mentioned in the Legacy section here:

http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Sandal

So if it's dialogue, you may have to be standing still in the right spot, or something equally tricky to trigger.

Yes, this might be the case.  If you're not standing in the right spot in Dark town during act 3 or you run by to quick you will miss the dialogue of King Alistair bringing a boat for any Ferelden who wishes to return home.

Oh??? I missed that as well. Apparently I'm too impatient when I play - just charging through streets and busting through doors like the Kool-Aid man.

Don't feel bad, I missed Sandal saying he wanted those cheesy looking fish.  I thought you guys were just making a joke.

That convo occurs with a Ferelden female refugee in Darktown just before or just after the King Alistair quest.

I realized when playing the game that you do have to stop and listen to what these npcs are saying.  You do pick up clues this way.  We also know that something is happening to npcs pets.....ok, whacky speculation.  Maybe Ser Pounce is recruiting them for his own army!   Image IPB

My game is kinda whacky with the background noise and convos.  Some I can hear very plain and others I can't.

Edit more thoughts.

This is a good possibility.  Duncan's father was from Highever and his mother was from Rivain.  The game never says if Duncan had any brothers or sisters.

Beard brothers and salamanders... speculating has brought us to some very interesting theories.... though if it turns out Thedas is being run by some sort of Salamander god, I'm not sure I can take RPGs seriously anymore, hahaha.

Anyway... paying attention to NPC banter always brings up the strangest things, but there are a lot of clues hidden in what the people of Kirkwall say, if you're lucky enough to come across them. I always found that interesting to listen to.

After Morrigan left the party in DA:O, she became a member of the Empress' court didn't she? I'm guessing Morrigan knew what Sandal was (either from Flemeth or her own knowledge), and she advised the Empress to either seek him out. For what, we can only wait and see.

I think this is the rumor for those who didn't do the DR.   For those who did the DR she was doing other things.

Hmm... It seems thats true. Even if you did the ritual, she still goes to Orlais it seems. "Last seen travelling west through the Frostback Mountains, possibly with child." Not exactly something i would recommend for pregent women, them to go out trekking threw freezing mountain passes, but to each their own.

She was doing something in Orlais though...

At the end of Origins one of the epilogue cards says someone who looks like Morrigan becomes a mage in the Court of Orlais in an advisor capacity, I think.  This only comes up in the ending epilogue cards if a warden refuses the DR.

Edit:  That 's right.  I forgot it says she was traveling through the frost backs even with the DR happening while pregnant.  Morrigan was doing an awful lot of traveling after Origins.

Edit x2

That could have been another mage as well.  Everyone thinks it's actually Morrigan, we really don't know for sure.  It would't surprise me if it's Flemeth.  Ala another amulet with a piece of her being carried to Orlais by another mage?

Huh, I don't recall ever seeing that when I don't do the DR... but then I may have simply just not been reading close enough. That is kinda... scary to think about, Morrigan working so close to that kind of politcal power in Thedas. What are her motives? That's the one thing I never clearly understood about Morrigan, where she fit into everything. Flemeth set her up for something, but it seems to go beyond just the child and the Eluvian...

Ya, she was travelling around alot. Though, we only assume it was Morrigan since they do put that statement next to a picture of her.

The other theory is interesting as well. We don't really know how many special amulets Flemeth has floating around. I always believed that Morrigan was Flemeth, but Flemeth isn't Morrigan if that makes sense. Flemeth herself states that she doesnt like rules like you cant be in two places at once. I can see her using one of the special amulets to make a younger verison of herself to raise, and then she would possess her when the time was right.

Plus, i like to imagine Morrigan's face when she finally reads Flemeth's real Grimoire.... only to find out that she IS Flemeth. Image IPB

@T3H

I agree. Alot of this doesn't make sense.

I do have a theory if Flemeth is Andraste, notice I said theory.

If Flemeth is Andraste then it would make sense that she sent her agents, Morrigan or Sandal even to Orlais to keep an eye on what is going on. There is alot that can happen with Orlais. We have the Empress who may or may not be getting war against Ferelden. I wasn't sure how Alistair was taking her response, but I got the impression she may or may not invade Ferelden. The Empress will most assurdly be involved with the mage/templar war with the Divine being in Orlais.

I can also see Flemeth if she is Andraste trying to topple or build up various countries to over throw the Trevinter Imperium once and for all. Ferelden would hold a special place for her if she is Andraste and this is her birth place. Morrigan and Flemeth both state they own the land in the South of Ferelden especially the Kocari Wilds area. This would make sense Flemeth being Andraste and she conquered this land during her exalted march. Wasn't this area the land her husband Matherath owned or he was Lord of being an Alamarri War Lord or all of Ferelden was once ruled by him? I'm not sure and I'd have to go back and read the codex again on this.

If Orlais is planning on invading Ferelden I can see Flemeth sending Sandal and Morrigan both to Orlais to find out what is going on and try to stop the Empress if this is her plan. We also know that Orlais did engage to get the Qunari religious book from the Imperium and I think this happened to ask for the aid of the Qunari against a war with Ferelden. Isabela stole the book from Orlais not the Qunari themselves, or do I have this wrong? Alot of motives here.

Once again this is just a theory.
