So I was ending a game today of ME2 and decided to load my oldest Shepard (havent played it for years). I was laughing to myself because I had 3 squadmates dead (this was before any of us knew about when the suicide mission was going to occur and that members could even die on it) which were Jack, Grunt, and Legion.

What about all of you? Have you ever loaded your OLD game to see how you did when no information was abundant? It made me chuckle a bit and figured I'd see if others noticed this too (if they are old timers with this game such as myself).

I lost Grunt and Mordin the first time because I didn't know the correct placement.

Seriously, Miranda can take a shot to the gullet but Grunt can't! She doesn't even have armor! And Mordin in the end because he didn't have the Omni-Tool upgrade.

Unbelivable, I know.

I did O.K. in my first play through, only Tali died.

Which irritated me when I found out she just cost me an achievement.

No, only to replay specific sections.

I do everything perfect the first time, because I save-reload pretty much every conversation at least a couple of times.

First time I only had Mordin die, that's about it.

I lost Thane in my first playthough....seemed sending him into a vent shaft was right up his ally.

And, forgot to activate Legion.

I lost Legion in my first run and my first Shepard was so ugly LOL. I'm glad he's not my "canon".

Grunt died on me, I think Legion and Mordin did too. I rushed off after the crew to save them rather than take the time to scan more planets for upgrades ((this was before I hooked up to XBL, so no update to go faster, so I felt like I was letting the crew down)). I'm pretty sure almost everyone made mistakes their first playthrough, it made things more interesting, thats for sure.

I'm interested to see the tales we'll tell after ME3 kicks our butts.

My first time finishing ME2 I got Zaeed killed... apparently I had the fool notion that he was a good leader and let him lead fire team 2.

Yeeah.. that wasn't very smart of me.

I often load a lot of my old games just to see how they turned out.. I have so many that I can't remember them all, so it's nice to take a quick look at them from time to time to see what decisions I made whilst pondering my seemingly odd choices at the time.

First time I only lost Jacob. When he voluteered to go through the vents I believed he could do it. I was wrong.

Yeah Locke, a lot of people get confused by the wording there. They don't realise it's more about tech skill then sneaking skill.

First go through I lost the crew. Figured it wouldn't matter if I took my time, they were already dead anyway. But noooooo. I'm quite proud that Moridin survived in mine. Still not sure how I managed it.

Everyone survived, but Zaeed didn't have loyalty... I failed at keeping him loyal. Also, hilariously enough, I do remember thinking this:

"Mordin could escort the crew back! He killed someone with farming equipment right?"

I had the entire crew loyal to me, but I lost Mordin on my first playthrough. I sent Zaheed back with the Normandy crew when I should have sent Mordin.

Jack died holding the line (this actually pleased me), Grunt died to the swarm room (pissed me off), and Legion died during the ship battle (bulkhead smashed him).

Oh yes, I also lost the crew because I decided to do a non Legion loyalty mission after they were abducted.

Cracks me up but glad I have that save file as it will change things a bit in ME3 from the typical perfect playthrough that followed the first one.

It's to compensate for not exactly knowing what the dialogue wheel will lead to.

The final time I do each conversation, it's by choosing all the right dialogue options, all the investigation options in the right order and every single line chosen before the other character finishes their final pre-dialogue wheel sentence.

Makes the games last longer as well; I can spend a entire night with just one or two new missions.

I thought I was the only one that did that.....

But instead of save>loading>save>loading I use NG+

The dialogue wheel can be very misleading.

I lost Legion in the shaft. Had him unloyal 'cause I side with Tali after his LM.
It was bit weird because that Shepard I played as mostly paragon but deeply suspicious of the Geth (given the events of ME1). I even had the paragon option to mediate between Tali and Legion but I didn't take it on purpose.
Then, after the SM my Shep suddenly stares at a coffin for Legion and looks all sad. My Shep would probably rather just left him on the collector base.

EDIT: Oh yeah and like many, I had a romance with Jack that I never wanted.

I figured an elite assassin would know how to disable a security console, sheesh.
