Did manage to save everyone in the crew and no one died in my squad so i'm kind of proud of that. I was close to lose Mordin though. Was considering sending Grunt escorting but changed to Mordin in the last second

Other than Miranda's non loyalty (and Zaeed's on one of them) nothing is particularly odd. Maybe some of the armor choices because this was before all the DLC and what not. I usually try to do every possible mission and assignment, and decided to always pimp my ship out for kicks and what not, so I never had anyone die. It wasn't until my 3rd or 4th that I even knew that not customizing the ship affected your chances.

Though Kelly did die on my first one because I took waaaayyyy too long doing assignments. Can't say she's missed though. Chakwas was pissed.

So I was ending a game today of ME2 and decided to load my oldest Shepard (havent played it for years). I was laughing to myself because I had 3 squadmates dead (this was before any of us knew about when the suicide mission was going to occur and that members could even die on it) which were Jack, Grunt, and Legion.

What about all of you? Have you ever loaded your OLD game to see how you did when no information was abundant? It made me chuckle a bit and figured I'd see if others noticed this too (if they are old timers with this game such as myself).

In lieu of your first paragraph there, if you actually followed the info given to us leading up to ME2's release, you'd know that not only could Shepard die on the SM, but that everyone else could too.  So when I began playing for the first time, I was already preparing myself mentally for that possbility.  Secondly, because I came into the game completely informed and didnt go in blind, all my squad survived on the SM.  A little common sense on that mission and you can easily deduce who's appropriate for the current "job" at hand.

You have to actually try to kill your squad in order for any of them to die.  Even the ship upgrades basically had a big red sign on them saying "Hey, BUY ME OR SOMEONE WILL PROBABLY DIE" As for actually going back and "loading an old save"?  The only data I've kept are my most recent playthroughs.  And even those, I'll probably go in and delete and import again fresh about a month or so before ME3's release just to give me something to kill time with Posted Image

I apologize if the wrong impression is gotten by this because the ONLY way you didnt know that Shepard or your squad could possibly die during the SM was if you basically "ghosted" off the forums for months before ME2's release.  Which, some people do and I can understand and respect not wanting any spoilers.  But me personally, I came in completely informed on what I was "getting into" so to speak.  So "reloading an old save" like yours probably wouldnt have as much "nostalgic value" as it does to you.  But again, that's just me as I like to stay informed.

Lost Samara and Tali on my first suicide run attempt. Reloaded and saved them. Then I had a lot of soldier playthroughs and deleted it.

First time, I lost the non party member crew (still got the achivement on a blind run though :D) because I had no idea that delaying going through the relay would have consequences...

The only mission I did between collector attack and suicide mission was that harvesting minerals with a mech sidequest...

such a waste...

Didn't lose a person, but its also the savegame where I gave the base to Cerberus. I reviewed some of the comments my squadmates said about my decision.

I lost Legion and Mordin in my first playthrough. It seemed to me like an assassin who kicks ass with a sniper rifle would be perfect for providing a distraction for the collectors, too bad his leadership skills didn't hold up and got Legion killed.

Mordin...didn't hold the line. Sent Grunt to escort the crew, figured he made a good bodyguard.

Garrus, Tali, Zaeed, and Mordin died on my first playthrough of the game. I thought I was being so smart with sending Garrus into the vents (he has tech powers and is great with guns) and Samara with 400 years of experience would make things go smoothly... but I really think that second missile to Garrus' face blew his brains out. And here I was going "Aww @#$%!"

I lost grunt because he was not a good fire team leader. I also lost half my crew because I did a firewalker mission.

I lost all the crew, I did the derelict reaper mission as soon as it was available. Then legion died too, Tali was my LI and though she could lead the 2nd team. And then Miranda, she was unloyal and thought she could betray me if I left her holding the line. Never managed to get back her loyalty, even being full paragon. Didn't she understand that being raped, tortured, drugged, frozen, etc. is a lot worse than being breed to be a superwoman?

I lost Mordin :crying:, Jack, and I think someone else (can't remember who), and the whole crew, minus Chakwas, my first playthrough.  I literally shouted "No!" when Mordin died.

Lot seem to have lost the crew. Makes sense though as many had side missions, etc.

I lost Tali on my first playthrough. :( I didn't know it was possible for a team of loyal squadmates to die holding the line. I reloaded and saved everyone on my second try... After I had finished crying about my first. ^^;

Ah yes my first time.

Well, I didn't upgrade anything on the ship(sorry i was feeding my fish!) and of course lost Jack, Legion(no kasumi dlc for me yet), and thane. Garrus died in the vent, Grunt died leading the fireteam, Mordin died holding the line, and Miranda died along with the Reaper.

Decisions of note. Liara/Tali LI. Exterminated Rachni, Saved council, Destroyed Collector base, and punched that Reporter in the face!

I never lose anyone anymore though.
