Couldn't say very much in the title, but my question is this: How hard is it to use the Dragon Age Toolset as compared to The Elder Scrolls Construction Set for Oblivion? I have just about finished my first quest mod in Oblivion with full voice overs and scripting with almost no problems, it took me about a month coming fresh into the world of modding. So my question to you is this: Is the Dragon Age Toolset as difficult as it seems? It looks to me to be a whole lot harder to use, especially with the adding of resources. I'd like to see the analysis of someone who has worked in both creators to tell me just how much harder it is to work with.

Yes it's harder but also much much more powerfull. TES construction toolset is quite simple in it's Data driven structure. The two toolset hasn't much in common at all so it will be like starting from scratch for you.

if you follow the tutorials you can do a simple quest during a weekend with new levels. Use the datoolsetwiki and watch the utube movies.

The only thing that TES do that DA won't beable to handle is:

True 3D world (ie multiple surfaces ontop of each other that you can walk on), or controlling swimming or flying in three dimensions.

Seamless world, DA:O require you to use multiple areas with a loadscreen

Day/Night cycle DA:O is using static lightmaps so you can switch the atmosfer without switching area, and with it load a new area, ie you need a Day version of a area and a night version, if you want to simulate time passing.

if you need either of those you should hold your ground, otherwise I would move over and not look back. Because with DA:O toolset you will have a really proffesional Game development tool. with very few limitations.
