The warden that helped the dwarfes at Orzammar, that hepled the elves in brecilian forrest, healed Arl Eamon, that killed the Archdemon and cleansed the Circle tower in ferelden. that´s why  the chantry is searching for the warden as well.

It´s a character that other people listen to, follows and fights beside.

My warden wouldn´t stand by and watch if Ferelden was under attack or if another place was.

That's YOUR Warden. One of my Wardens led the werewolves in slaughtering the elves in the brecilian forest, sacrificed Arl Eamon's wife to blood magic so that he could make a deal with a demon to trade power for leaving Connor alone for awhile. My Warden also killed both Wynne and Leliana. My Warden also had no problem burning Amaranthine when it was under attack.

That's the crux of the matter. You can't structure a third game around a character that comes with that much varied baggage. The Warden I described above would make a better VILLAIN in DA3 than hero. Now that would be awesome, if there was the possibility of fighting and killing your warden depending on if your character made choices that would conflict with how your Warden saw the world and acted.

Some of you have really sick puppies for Wardens.
I like my Warden way better than Hawk.Better story all around. Is this a Hawk only item pack or something all can use?

Here's an idea. You start DA3 and after the title sequence you have the main menu, you select New Game and there before you is options. 1. Play as Warden 2. Play as Hawke 3. Play as New Character. You have 3 different starting areas for each choice you pick. That way you don't just make me happy but most others as well.

That's probably an unrealistic amount of work, especially when they're gonna be concentrating on story branches / choice impact in-game and from save import and not re-using enviroments, yadda yadda.

I'd love for your idea to be implemented Lestatman, but I agree with what PresidentCowboy said. I'm actually looking forward to a new PC, and think the Warden/Hawke can be more effective as secondary characters.

How does this work with voice? My warden didn't have one, I would be very very sad if my FemHawke couldn't speak. But dialouges in game have to be approached differently depending on if the PC can speak or not. Warden will get a voice, or Hawke will suddenly turn mute. I don't think this will be done. And I suppose that DA4 would be a nightmare when it comes to flags carrying over, to account for if the story was continued with the Warden or Hawke. I don't think that this will be done, Hawke and the Warden are two different people, it's not the same as chosing one of the different backgrounds for your warden.

There is also the problem of the players different wardens being in very different places around the world.

First of all it was only an idea. Personally you can use the same voice actor since if the characters, story, gameplay are good enough then why worry over a voice. I don't mind either way regarding voice as for me it's not the most important aspect of a game. As with the Warden you can have them all start at a specific place on a mission for the Wardens or something to that extent.

My problem is that I look at Dragon Age and think it should be bigger than what we're getting. When I look at the map of Thedas I think why are we restricted to only one area (Ferelden) or one city (Kirkwall) when we have all that hemisphere to explore. Lets not forget it is only the Southern Hemisphere, who knows what lies elsewhere in that world.

As I said maybe my own ideas are far too bigger than what is possible since I'm not a dev working on Dragon Age and have no idea what it's like to create a game.

Do you remember the creating of your character when you choose a voice for the warden in combat, there were six of them.

It would be kind of awsome if bioware use those vioces and give it to the Warden.

Myself however thinks that the vioces could been better

I think that is why we are gettting one country at a time. I do wish we had seen more of the Free Marches, though. I want Tantervale and Starkhaven as well...

I think the best thing that can be done is to preserve the continuity that was left after the end of DA2. They went in another direction, and I think they sort of conceded that it had an effect on sales. I think also that people see ME and ME2 and think that this game should be as big and expansive as those games. Two different games and both pose their own tasks as far as programming goes.

I'm the one who should say sorry as I didn't take you post as rude or aggressive but the optimist in me was trying to convince myself more than you and others that there could be a way of doing it when deep down I know Bioware won't do it.

As I said in my previous post the problem is me and my imagination that sometimes goes wild when I see so much potential in something like the amazing world which Bioware have created.

Lastly how could anyone say no to a homemade cookie as that would be heaven.

Everyone has an opinion of the warden or hawke´s return if there story is to continue or not, and both sides are making good points.

and once again I know that Dragon age isn´t mass effect, BUT all the choices that you made in DAO and in DA2 will have an impact in DA3 and it will shape the world of Dragon age, and it´s not only that, your social actions with your party members is also significant for example when you meet a cameo character from origins in DA2 for example Leliana in the "exiled prince"( I romanced her) It didn´t feel right because it was not the warden she was meeting, it was hawke, They were strangers, same thing goes for meeting Zevran and Nathaniel Howe, it´s not the right chemistry that happens between friends or lovers.
questions like "how you been", "what have you been up to"? they don´t happen when you bring a new character in, then the questions will be like this:
Who are you?....... oh right! you´re him/her

Do you understand what I´m talking about?

In this forum i wrote about the social effects between party members and Cameos, I´m interested in your opinion so please comment:

I hear what you are saying, but question like what have you been up to is also weird if you are lovers or close friends... You are sort of expected to know what you lover are doing at least, I think I prefer the stranger chemistry to the I should know what you are doing, but I totally don't... which that sort of cameo's sometimes can bring. It can be really akward.
