We actually (back in the DA2 days, right around when we were crunching to get the E3 demo together) roughed together a scene where Hawke and family were actually riding on the back of a dragon. Due to absolutely no animations existing for this, it looked hilariously awful. I still wish we'd found some way to put it in the game as an easter egg, because it really had to be seen to be believed.

I don't remember the exact amount of sleep we'd had at that point, but I imagine it was along the lines of 'not much'.

I want it. Now.

Not exactly! I won't be able to download the content until the end of the month, when I'll be back from holidays!
But I'd like some informations and some pictures about the pack to update the topic I've opened in my italian DA forum, before I leave!

See? We should've gotten that with signature edition. Like the Origins' collector edition blooper reel in the "making of" DvD.

Other interesting titbits include:

It is "absolutely possible" that we will see both Hawke and The Warden again.
We will see Sister Nightingale again, "sooner than we think".
Morrigan is an absolutely critical character, and it is "very likely" that we will hear of or encounter both her and the Warden once again.
Future time spent in Kirkwall will be short-lived, as the devs don't want to spend too much time in an area which has been thoroughly explored.
We will see other cities in the Free Marches such as Starkhaven.
Sandal is a "pretty special" character, and fans will "have to see" what happens in relation to his prophecy

Not sure if all that has been posted.

Oh...oh.......*Speechless* Best news in a LONG time.

*Brain kicks into gear* Starkhaven DLC with my Lady Hawke as both Viscountess and Princess....and Morri...and...Exalted Marches and....

Ok.....I'll stop now and enjoy my glee silently.

I saw this on the Wikia:

Senior Producer Fernando Melo and Chris Priestly held a Q&A panel at Gamescom where they talked about the future of the series. They admitted they made a lot of mistakes with Dragon Age II, which they are working on fixing in future DLC and instalments.

Alongside the admission came the news that the next story-driven DLC would be announced at PAX. Furthermore, they "accidentally" showed a picture of Hawke on the back of a dragon, possibly indicating the introduction of mounts in future DLC.

I think Bioware should just forget about Kirkwall altogether. I don't think anyone liked that place.

It was just ... a hellhole.

Even if Hawke or The Warden aren't the main PC's in future games, I would LOVE it if they gave us the option to play as them in small segments- not unlike how TW2 handled playing as characters besides Geralt at times.

Well I´m with you on this point. At least I appreciate that BW tries to tie up some lose ends for Hawke AND the Warden who did the DR and is connected to the Morrigan plot.

Actually Fernando talks about that when BW gets into the future it is quite possible that we will run into these characters (Hawke & The Warden) again, whatever this means.

So I guess the next DLC which they will probably announce at PAX will focus on the mage/templar conflict, involving Leliana. Referring to a classical expansion pack, Fernando talks about that they can’t talk about anything like that at this point. So I would assume not gona happen in 2011.

I’m worried about those major plot lines in case they will be taken into account with DLCs. As Fernando stated they will make less DLCs for DA:2 than they did with DA:O, cause they want to ensure quality and depth of the content. While that’s defiantly good, I´m not sure if the upcoming DLCs are beefier enough.  For example a  Sarkhaven DLC should be at least 8 h of game-play, hence how much would that costs for the gamers?

Now I'm picturing Gamlen , wallop mallet in hand , on the back of a giant Dragon.
Swooping down on an Exalted Marches to save The Blooming Rose from destruction.

I don't know if we 'll have an expansion pack , it doesn't seem to sell so well.DLC seem to make more profits. The thing that bother me is as far as i enjoyed Legacy , I'm bored of content happening during DA2 timeline.I want the story to move forward.

Can you play wallop mounted like polo? Dragon-back wallop sounds pretty fun. It's also a pretty cool name for a band.

I agree about content for post-game though, I'm not all that excited to see more stuff Hawke did during the 'rise to power', not with the way the game ended. What happened next?!

Doubt it, we already know what Bioware think of swooping <_<

I'm really suprised at the Warden's -hinted- return. I just don't see how that'll work unless they cover their face somehow, or pan the camera so that the Warden's head isn't in sight, and have someone interrupt them every time they go to talk...

I'm sure they could knock something up to recreate the warden's face in the new system, assuming the imports actually have access to that data from Origins. It would be a lot of work for one character though, a full face mask would certainly be an easier solution (if a *massive* cop out).

And I don't think they'd be afraid of just giving the warden a voice. Depending on how much dialogue they actually get they could even use the same actors who did the original voice sets, but again that's a lot of work when there's an easier solution in taking a short cut.

Yesterday, a friend and I transcribed the Dragon Age 2 (and Mass Effect 3) Presentation's questions and answers. Each question has its start time in the video noted in brackets, so that you can skip to that portion of the video to watch. Since the content is textual, you can search it, translate it, etc if you wish. You can find it here if you're interested:

Now to get some caffeine in me before delving into today's things...

Of course with the Warden coming back, it brings up this issue: he/she is going to want to ride on a dragon. They were able to have Anora/Alistair cameo tied to import in Awakenings, so they should be able to take the default Warden from each origin and make a potential cameo. The issue really will be updating to DA2.

For those that don't read French, he's asking about high-resolution textures for Item Pack #1, the new item pack, and all the vanilla low-resolution weapons. (Rough translation.)

I love it how mr. Melo pretends that Bioware's not sure whether they're going to make DA3 or not.

To be fair: didn't you say that about Anders?

Though, I want to stress that I neither expect nor want the Warden to return as a protagonist.

That's good, because Mike has already said that the Warden will not return as a protagonist. :)

That doesn't make much sense...

We know that the Grey Wardens don't involve themselves in political struggles (It's a lie though... we got into a political struggle in Origins), battle the darkspawn/blight and they are an order of great warriors.

Considering the last blight before the one in Origins was 400 years ago... I doubt we will see a new one anytime soon.

Duncan even says that they lose respect in a non-blight time. They are useless at the moment -_-
