Foul-mouthed murderous criminal who thinks charging into combat shirtless is some kind of statement (besides "Shoot me!")  And I'm suppose to trust this person with my life in battle against the Collectors?  Yes she has a sad backstory, but it' s over-the-top it largely loses its effect.

That's what I figured; the catch being that I don't recall her forcing Shepard to mind-meld.

Not that it matters if it was actually a true melding because Shep either gave his/her consent or just outright ordered Liara to do it.  Rape doesn't work that way.

Nope he actually is. Miranda and Anderson say so in ME2, and there's a news item stating that he's a fierce advocate for humanity.
