We all know that the big species like krogans, asari etc. will play a major role in ME3, but I was wondering if the minor species will be as important.  This includes species like the hanar, elcor, volus vorcha, or even drell.  Are you going to recruit there help also or just species with major problems.

I kind of just want an elcor army^_^, but it would be cool to see what these species would contribute.

My bad, and I forgot batarians too.  On a side note the yahg would make aweome soldiers as well but bringing them into space would be, to quote Mordin, "like giving nuclear weapons to cavemen".

I'm interested to see if and how the batarians factor into the fight against the Reapers after Arrival.  That first meeting between Shepard and a batarian could be a little awkward.

I'm hoping that seemingly out of nowhere just like us the Raloi the latest arrivals in the galaxy who everybody assumes are just a another backwards would-be client species actually turn out to be a major military power who end up being the 5th race to join the council.

I could imagine because they have been isolated from the rest of the galaxy all this time but have possibly been civilized as long as the Asari (due to their distance to a relay) they have developed along their own technological path by not being able to backwards engineer reaper tech by stumbling across a mass relay so early like us which makes them and their weapons tech, etc highly advanced and effective against the reapers for example because the reapers have never seen, encountered or in anyway prepared to fight a race who have truely created their own technology and can fight on their own terms before.

I'd like Sidemissions where we landed on the planets of the less prominent species that you listed and helped them deal with their much smaller reaper attacks.

For example a mission on Kahje would be great.

I think a good side storyline would be the drell revolting towards the compact agreement that the hanar put them into, or mabye you could try to find a cure for thanes disease, Keplar syndrome, saving the drell from extinction.  I dont know, just a few ideas^_^

Especially if Shepard is either a war hero or ruthless... especially ruthless.

Or perhaps a few aqua-reapers (reapers that have been constructed to swim underwater) are assaulting the planet, and Shepard must bring reinforcements to the planet and fight a battle there.

Humans are the fourth race.  They joined at the end of ME1.  Raoli would be the fith race.

Vorcha would be one of the most ideal species to recruit as shock troops against the Reapers' ground troops. Their numbers, regeneration, adaptability and ferocity will tear the husks apart.

The Drell from their homeworld and Kahje would also be good ground troops.

My canon Shepard is a colonial war hero.  If the above scenario happens, I'm yelling for husband to pull out the popcorn.

True. I still don't think of humanity as a council race somehow. It's like we're not really part of the club...  they just pretend we are so we use up our own resources to settle unstable regions to make them feel safer and pick up the citadel defense tab and half of the aid buget for them.

From what I heard, the Yagh were shunned by the Council as they tore the Council's "Hi there we are from the Council and bring gifts!" envoy into pieces... like.... violently. So they just left them. Perhaps they will become Reaper tools. I mean they are GIGANTIC and pretty much take a lot of beating to go down so who knows.

Well no matter what we choose it looks like humans join the Council. Either as the leaders or just another member. Still I agree the raloi have potential to help in the fight.

That would be awesome, especially since it would be on kahje, and we would be able to see the hanar in their element.

I would like to see a misson where you are on a hight gravity world and some elcor tear husks to shreads. Another cool thing would be if the hanar find a way to use their mass effect field that they move with as a weapon.

*Shhh* You'll hurt their feelings.

Raloi: Lesser?

*Raloi runs off crying*

I wonder how the virtual aliens will be involved? Maybe they'll all be like EDI, agents of cyber warfare. Maybe the raloi and virtual aliens will be key players in defeating the Reapers.

They may be a militaristic authoritarian dictatorship come slave state but I bet the Batatians kick some serious ass in ME3 and all will be forgiven. Maybe after being emboldened by their part in a victory over the reapers the Batarians clean their own house of these Hegemony scumbags. A Batarian revolution idea sounds pretty cool.

Either that or get cocky enough to wage war on humanity.  That seems like something the batarians would do, start a war right after another war.

It seems like it would be hard to get them to cooperate in an army.  Working in a band of mercenaries is one thing, but cooperating and being tactical in a full scale war might be hard for the vorcha.  Not impossible, but hard.

The Batarian state the 'Hegemony' is anti-Human but it's also pretty damn anti-Batarian too. The vast majority of Batarians are forced to live a terrible existence under this regime and I can't blame them for the way they are... the Hegemony's propaganda system keeps them in power by diverting attention away from the real social issues at the heart of their society and towards humans and the citadel races. The vast majority of Batarians are probably no less decent than anybody else in the galaxy just born into such a desperate situation exacerbated by their horrible leadership who have banned them and in turn got them isolated and cut off from the rest of the civilized galaxy with no little to no education or prospects of any kind of social mobility within their closed slave-based economy.

If the Batarians bring down this regime with a lot of hard work building bridges I think they have the makings of a council race one day... they're just off to really bad start and this could be the first step.

If the humans chose to reconcile our differences by providing the Batarian populace with some food aid, military aid and support [and a shot at a real future in citadel space] I think we could win them over.

Might as well put "other races" up there then, as all non-humans are inferior to us.
