Note: i checked the search function and couldn't turn anything up.

I'm on about my 9th playthrough and for my 10th, I really wanted to do something different and while scanning through all of them I noticed one very silly thing...
I've never used the Sentinel or Adept (But I plan to use the Adept)

I was reasearching into the Sentinel because that's how I roll when a thought popped into my head.
Could A sentinel essentually "tank" Insanity using the Tech Armour, shotguns and the right bonus power.

From what I hear, Tech Armour is affected by the tech cooldown (unlike the Vanguard's charge) and so one could spam the hell out of Tech Armour for an almost unending shield.
I just wanted some thoughts to see if it was viable or not. I've recently begun to enjoy tanking in games so I may make this Sentinel my main playthrough for ME3.

Also is anyone able to confirm that GSB stacks with Tech Armour? I know the durations kinda clash together but I mean mid-end game when you get the tech cooldowns it sounds useful to improve upon the Tech Armour.

It actually pays not to take GSB/Barrier/Fortification because you want the Tech Armour to fail and send out the knockdown pulse.
I tend to just take Warp Ammo as my bonus power, and tank through Insanity using the shotgun and Tech Armour. I occasionally use warp or overload, but most of the time, its just shotgun blasts to tehface to win the day.

If you are planning to stay back and spam powers so that your shields don't break then you could use GSB or Barrier with the Power Armor evolution to keep them up slightly longer, but on Insanity that's tough to do. And also note that there are quirks with how they total, and that you then could also benefit with going with the Raider passive evolution and the Blood Dragon Armor to get a total boost of 45% to power damage from those three sources (Power Armor, Passive & Body Armor).

Otherwise if you are using Assault Armor, like Bogsnot1 said, you want to utilize the pulse damage and shield boost as often as possible. So then you benefit by leaving GSB and Barrier to Legion and Jacob and going with another bonus power you can use.

And in general, I don't recommend Fortification for Shepard since there is only the class passive as a boost to its cooldown, as a combat power.

Chances are I'll be following the usual premise of a "tank" class in any game. Up close and personal and hard to kill ^_^.
Which probably means spamming Assault Armour XD. The main reason I'm looking at the Sentinel as the tank is due to the tech armour in the first place. Vanguards are to be fair the ultimate in damage dealing. (charge + Claymore realod trick = death) but the survivability was kinda low for my liking as a tank.

And I don't really tend to take fortification ever. Chances are I'll pick either Warp/AP ammo or Energy Drain, depends on how I feel really XD

EDIT: just a question, I can't seme to decide what shotgun to take with me. Instinct is telling me to go with the Evi because I love the design of it. but something else is telling me to take the GPS but I can't figure out why XD

Evi has eight pellets making ammo effects easier to activiate. GPS (in my opinion) is stronger than the Evi and has a charge up ability, I would say GPS for Sentinel just because Sentinel doesn't have any ammo powers such as Inferno or Cryo.
Edit: Forgot to say GPS has 3 pellets and has FAR superior range :)

Yeah, I agree about going with the GPS for the Sentinel, and the charged shots are fun

GPS has a slightly different firing mechanism than the Evi due to the charge up feature. Evi is push to fire, GPS is release to fire, which means a microsecond delay in firing that could be fatal if you're not used to it.
Damage per shot:
Scimitar: 20.34
Katana: 27.5
Evi: 36.8
Claymore: 50.1
GPS: 156.50/347.77 charged shot.

Is this damage per 'pellet' or combining all the pellets that are fired in a single shot?
