I don't know why I feel compelled to talk about this subject, but I do. The various staves one can find in this game can hold a fair bit of symbolic significance, I feel, and I wondered what plot-specific ones your party's mages favor?

My mage Hawke wields Malcolm's Honor through most of the game, of course, but I see her as taking up the Staff of Violation at the end in Orsino's honor, to fight Meredith (though its lacking stats have compelled me to use a modded version). Merrill, after some debate on my part, got the Torch of Falon'Din--I thought it might be more appropriate to use Voracity for her, as it being ripped from a demon would suit her and the Torch could just be a symbol of the uselessness of Marethari, but... the Torch is also a wholly elven weapon, and something that could still be reclaimed. Anders, I couldn't really find a specific staff for by the end, though in my mind, my Hawke gives him Malcolm's Honor so that he always has a piece of her.

On nonmage playthroughs, it's pretty much the same except that Bethany gets the Staff of Violation.

I think I still have Chanter's Staff on Anders, for the healing buff, but for the most part I agree, I did give Merril Voracity, and will give Bethany the Staff of Violation.

On a side note, I disagree with your status, Anders had no right to blow up the Chantry.

I've never really acknowledged the symbolic nature of the staves my Hawke(s) carries. All my mages are blood mages, so they tend to gravitate to the staves that offer bonuses to blood magic. I suppose when I look at both stats and backstory, Cold-Blooded would have to be my favorite staff.
