Does he go back to fade? Does he inhabit zombie Anders? Is he Justice or Vengeance? Do we know?

According to the codex, if a host body dies, the inhabiting spirit/demon simply returns to the fade.

Yes, but Justice did already inhabit one corpse, would be an explanation if they decide to retcon Anders death again...

I know that, but it is BioWare, They have made special exceptions.

I don't think anyone, even Anders, knows for sure.  I believe he hopes Justice can return to the Fade then.  But it's really one big question mark..  The method he was brought to Thedas in teh first place was...unusual...to say the least.

I hope it ends up destroyed.

Sadly more than likely it goes back to the fade.

Okay, assuming Anders' spirit of Justice is the same one that was inside Kristoff in Awakening, what would happen if Kristoff "died" at the end of Awakening? This is what happened in my game, according to the epilogue. Would that spirit then return to the Fade? Or would he have entered Anders' body almost straight away?

Arrgh, so very confusing.

I *hope* it goes back to the Fade, ready and willing to seek out and possess a new host to further its cause.

And, of course, Vengeance should keep all of Anders' memories. *cackle*

I mean, seriously, why get rid of "Mageneto" so quickly?

It becomes Vengeance the Unbound. After Hero #3 and party spends 30 minutes trying to kill it you will get the Vigilance Greatsword as a loot drop!

Usually when something possessed is killed, you see the spirit leave or you get the second stage abomination to kill. I realise that perhaps because he wanted to die, it might be a little different, but Anders just drops down tamely to the ground, no light going out behind the eyes, etc, so I have wondered if showing him die the way he does, is a prelude to Justice raising him back up again after you depart the scene. Kristoff had been dead several weeks when Justice animated him, so a recently deceased Anders should be no trouble. Except that it will just be Anders' body with Justice personality. Given the fact that there are 3 different ways it can end for Anders, and the other two involve survival, I wouldn't put it past the writers to bring him back in some way.

I doubt someone as selfish as Vengeance ("my cause and my ideals for everyone, all the time") let's himself to be killed that easily. My guess is that he's still around and in this world.

So it's eiither going to possess a corpse, another poor passers by, or remain as a demon in solid form. IF and if they deside to bring it back as a 'companion', I'd guess they'll go with the solid form thing, because of the possiblities. But that's just me.

Good question. Would death seperate both souls and set them free? or are the permantly bound, beyond death, to a single entity?

Normall, spirirts either return to the Fade, or wander until they find something or someone to inhabit, like in the Brecellian forest. Justice, when he took over Kristoff's corpse, was not certain he could get back to the Fade, because his cirumstances were a bit different than most spirits. And of course, there is the possibility that Justice has been permantly changed/warped.

Should return to the fade, but I´m half expecting they´ll use this to keep Anders around as happened with Leliana.

According to David Gaider, if you killed Anders, he stays dead. And really, with a new protagonist in DA3, it would not make much sense to bring him back in any meaningful way. Justice/Kirstoff was interesting, but I don't think they'd go that route a second time.

If you did kill Anders, I expect Justice would go back to the Fade. The damage Anders did to him, however, would probably remain. You can't unscramble an egg, and all that. I'm not saying this because I dislike the characters and wish them ill. I love the characters and appreciate the way they've been developed. It just seems like their stories are over. If Anders/Janders/Justice/Vengeance appear, I would expect it to be no more than a cameo or codex entry.

Yeah I read in a codex the spirit is back to the fade, the only one who dies is the host.
How torn is justice? well justice by it self is still justice, it might turn over to vengance if upset or if he takes form on another body but I suspect he is back to his ownself, spirits do not actually feels anything in the fade, they just exist.
There is no time in the fade, he will feel just as he haven't left for more than a minute, and memories... well you need time to create memories.

I hope he ends up in the fade and we see him again. I want to see Justice back. He was one of my favorite characters in Awakening. Vengence didn't talk enough in DA 2 and when he did he'd often be a jerk.

I guess it would be hard for Anders to be a martyr if Justice propped his body up and kept using it Posted Image

When you take Anders to the fade and Justice takes over he seems more like the old Justice to me than Vengeance. If he would actually return to the Fade when Anders died he would be the old Justice I think.
I don't know if he would return to the Fade though, he seems to really miss it in DA:A and he states it's good to be back in DA2, so you'd think he's go back to the fade if he could instead of joining with Anders. On the other hand he -is- a spirit of Justice, and it is stated that the injustice done to mages moved him so he might have decided to not go back yet.
The problem with that is that there would always be some injustice or another in Thedas, and if he really cared so much about it he probably won't just pack his things and go back when Anders is killed. I guess we'll find out in DA3

I don't think Justice can go back to the Fade, I think he is out for good, when someone becomes an abomination, the demon remains within the Fade, so that is why the body dies and they don't. However, Justice is not in the Fade, he is fused with Anders, if he survived Anders death, he would either be riding his corpse or just be a disembodied spirit, like the many ones we've killed throughout the two games. If he's not dead, I'm sure the job could be finished at a later date.

After Awakening I got an impression that Justice can't go back to Fade that's why he had to animate Kristoff corpse. In DA2 while being in the Fade he sounds almost homesick. So I think Justice is trapped in mortal world.

I wish Justice could return to the Fade somehow. Perhaps that would heal all the damage that Anders unwillingly did to him.

Or may be even after Anders' death Justice would still have their mixed personalities and remain Janders forever?.

If you kill Anders he become a Martyr for the mages.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martyr

"A martyr (Greek: μάρτυς, mártys, "witness"; stem μάρτυρ-, mártyr-) is somebody who suffers persecution and death for refusing to renounce a belief or cause, usually religious."

hero:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hero

"A hero (heroine for females) (Ancient Greek: ἥρως, hḗrōs), in Greek mythology and folklore, was originally a demigod, their cult being one of the most distinctive features of ancient Greek religion.[1] Later, hero (male) and heroine (female) came to refer to characters who, in the face of danger and adversity or from a position of weakness, display courage and the will for self sacrifice—that is, heroism—for some greater good of all humanity. This definition originally referred to martial courage or excellence but extended to more general moral excellence."

If Anders dies the spirit return to the fade, you only killed the host.

In awakening:

1) Not recruiting justice: he hang around the marsh for many months until one day is gone ( as an spirit).

2)Not doing personal quest, he wonder for months and one day they found the body and returned to the wife.

3) If left to defend the keep:Justice body is found lifeless after the battle.

4)Doing personal quest: He go to the wife house and "drop dead" infront of her.

He always find Anders, even if they never meet.

In the conversation with Anders about Justice, he sounds pretty sure that Justice as we knew him in Awakening no longer exists. He said he hears his thoughts as his own and, because of Anders' hatred, he was twisted to Vengeance. I don't think the two can be separated and I don't think that Justice can ever become Justice again. If Anders dies then Vengeance/Justice will die with him, as the two are entwined now.

Justice without a host (or new one) would be a welcome cameo. Never thought of that. I liked Vengeance because in my canon Anders died at Vigil's Keep so it makes sense (like Wynne at the tower). Justice went out of his way to bring Anders back to life in my game. A noble spirit. Hopefully he wasn't too warped by Anders' anger.

I kind of wonder if he would become a guardian spirit in the Fade to warn/protect mages during their Harrowing.
