 Hey all.

I finally got done with Origins and started Awakening. 
I transferred my character over but I did not have my Wardern's Keep gear or Starfang. 

According to the patches, 1.04 should have fixed this. 
The DA Utility tells me that I have 1.04 installed. 

I tried to redownload the patch but it said that the patch could not be applied with the Steam version. 

So I uninstalled Ultimate Edition and am waiting for it to redownload. 

Will that fix it or do I need to take some other path to make it work?

If the patch doesn't fix it, there are a slew of mods on dragonagenexus.com to import all DLC items into Awakening.

Seems the reinstall didn't help.
What do I do now?

I could go for the mods, but I really don't want to risk any potential loss of data due to coruption as this is my main play through.

Mods rarely cause data corruption. They occasionally cause bugs, but particularly with one that is simply adding items, it is unlikely to damage your save. You can always make a back up copy of the character if you are really concerned.

Figured out a way around it.
Grabbed EA: Origin, logged into my EA/Bioware Account and reinstalling Dragon Age: Origins.
I can apply the patch to this version because it's not through Steam.

I'll be sure to post what happens.

Well it would seem that didn't help either.

Applying the patch would cause Origin to not be able to register my game and I would am left unable to play it.

I suppose mods are my only route left, unless someone can suggest an "official" fix.

The Ultimate edition comes pre-patched to version 1.04. Applying the patch a second time will cause a host of problems.

Yet my character does not transfer with the DLC items in the Ultimate Edition; something that 1.04 was supposed to fix.

Applying the patch twice will not help. Report the bug to EA and either use a mod to fix the import or import with a different weapon. Those are the only user-side fixes.
