Hell yes.

As far as Chantry intelligence is concerned, Ethereal. Leliana suspects that The Warden's disappearance is tied to the same reason as Hawke's, but it's not absolute.

Also, as far as Loghain's comments at Ostagar, I don't blame him for thinking Cailan would have made a mess of things, especially given the revelation about his plans to marry Empress Celene.

I don't deny that aid from Celene is iffy. But were I Loghain, I would've requested  demanded aid from the entire Circle of Magi (Harrowed Mages only. Unharrowed ones runs a big risk) and the majority of the Templars.

I would've also sealed up the Tower immediately and I would've waited for Arl Eamon's forces to arrive. The horde may seem endless, but it really isn't, and Loghain's forces seemed to be more than enough (as the far background shows thousands of soldiers moving towards the right of the screen).

I wouldn't have used the strategy Loghain thought up. Rather, I would've had most of the mages all atop the bridge and raining down Tempests and Blizzards and Infernos on the Darkspawn as they marched (one flame blast in the cinematic of the 4th Blight was apparently enough to take down a wave of Darkspawn). I would've positioned the army around the Tower (where the Warden enters I mean) and told them to try and funnel the Darkspawn if they managed to get through.

With all of these things, there would've also been time to find the treaties and request aid from the Dwarves. The Dalish would've taken some time though. King Endrin's death is never really given except that it happened three weeks prior to the Warden arriving in the mountains.

The battle was only unwinnable using Loghain's strategy. Using a different strategy, it possibly could have been won.

EDIT: I also would've made countless traps and poisons and bombs.

I have killed loghain in all my games, will it bother me to see him as he was in DAO in a future game? not at all, everyone has a reason for doing things, I do like him and if my character ever meet loghain she will have a pair of sharp knifes at hand or crushing prison spell at the ready.
Yes he is a traitor and what do traitors do best?

I didn't kill him. I would have been a wasting away a great character to either a glorious or not so glorious death. I want a cameo for DA3. King Alistair says he's still alive during Year Seven of DA2, so it isn't a stretch. Frankly I thought the Qunari raid would have been a good time for him to show up with Hawke's sibling. Didn't happen. So for DA3, Mr. Laidlaw and Mr. Gaider, make it happen.

I can’t remember now if it was the dao or daa epilogue but Loghain had been through a lot. The taint took its toll much sooner and he didn’t live 30 more years. I think he went on his calling.

Yes, he does live several years but no where near 30. At least that is what I got from the one time I spared him. Of course things can *change* if they really want to he could outlive everyone else.

I'd like to see Loghain in Orlais flip a table upon hearing about the invasion they are planning on Ferelden, making him ragequit the Wardens and ride back to Ferelden to possibly assist in it's defense. Anora possibly gives him back his position as General, maybe.

Can he kill a few chevaliers in an epic horse pursuit too?

On a serious note, I'd love to see that happen.

RAWWRRRR. I'll pay $300 for this game.

I would LOVE to see him come back somehow in a future game. So many people love or hate him with a passion which says a lot about how well he was written. I think I also have a soft spot for him after reading the books and seeing how it translated to his in game character. He has a lot of old ghosts that account for his bastard streak and make him interesting.

By this logic, Meredith is a masterpiece of writing.

Edit: I doubt he'd be a main character though. Alistair warden cameo at best.

Granted I don't hit the forums much anymore so I have not seen what people say about her bar a few quick names like one starting with B, where as Loghain used to inspire a bit more with the rants when DA came out.  But each to their own, that's why I liked him, he was an ultimate bastard on the surface with a lot that happened in his life that made him act so under it.

I absolutley love Loghain, although funny enough it took me my third playthrough to finally like him. I haven't read any of the books (but I plan to now though) so it was interesting that my view on him changed simply by playing the game multiple times. To be honest I wish we had some more interactions with him, get to know him a bit better. He is such an interesting character that I really want him to return in DA3! If he did show it definatley would be a cameo because a vast majority of people killed him off.... Just writing this makes it all seem so unlikely.:?
I want my Loghain!

Hah, I thought this thread died. Yes, Loghain for DA3. Especially if the setting is between Orlais and Ferelden. His cameo could be vitally epic.

I hate to burst everyone's bubble but 10 years after the Blight Loghain is most likely a decaying skeleton in the Deep Roads.

That was a lie, I didn't hate it.

Loghain doesn't do much for me, love or hate. I killed him in every game because my Wardens prefer to have Alistair around than him.

My ideal Loghain cameo would be seeing his severed head stuck atop a pike on Fort Drakon.

When is he still alive? I'd find it ridiculous tbh. The Warden was like 20 years old and everyone went 'Oh well the story is over, the Calling, etc. ... Lohain is like 50 in DA:O (Anora is around 30) and then almost 60 at the end of DA2. I like Loghain more than most people in this forum, but please no more ignoring lore and story of DA:O. It was said that Loghain is good as dead if he becomes Grey Warden, due to his age. And now he's supposed to maybe outlive the Warden? ... Right ...

Just because the Warden's story is over doesn't mean they've gone on their Calling. When did DAO say that Loghain will die right after becoming a Gey Warden?

You talk to Anora after the landsmeet, and tell her even though you saved her dad it won't be for long. Well 10 years is long for a 50 year old in Dragon Age I'd assume. I mean it's more likely some Orlesian spy kills him before he hits 60 even without the blight.

In year seven in DA2 when Alistair (as King) mentions Loghain is still alive, so that makes Loghain around 57. For all we know, DA3 could take place directly after Varric finishes his tale which is just three years after the mage and templar battle. They never say the Warden is actually dead (unless US) just "dissapeared". So I think it highly likely that Loghain would still be alive. Considering that they included an appearance of drunk exhiled Alistair in DA2, which was probably an unpopular decision for most players, I don't see why Loghain couldn't make an appearance in DA3.

Please don't bring back Loghain because when I gave him the chance to save himself with the Dark Ritual, he begged me not to make him. I made a Warden character specifically tailored to being someone who might spare Loghain, not realising that ultimately I would genuinely end up respecting the guy (not necessarily forgiving him but agreeing with Anora that the tragedy was he did what he did because he thought it was best for Ferelden). In my playthrough he redeemed himself by willingly making the sacrifice.
That said, I would have loved a cameo in DA2 for those who spared him, so instead of Meredith chewing out King Alistair, she confronts Loghain, who gives as good as he gets over the mages (Loghain may have been playing politics promising Uldred greater rights for the Circle but may be he actually believed it should be so).

Well I didn't know that and I find it disappointing. Not because I dislike Loghain, I would kill him if I did. But ... you know ... it just seems the writers don't value their integrity at all. They just change stuff around as if what happened in DA:O was some sort of rumor. Yeah it's the small things that count, so sue me ... but it's just killing my faith in the future. I mean in DA3 we could just hear about the Champion and it doesn't match at all with what happened in DA2. So what, at least DA3 has a few good cameos ... oh well ...

That would be interesting. I was actually a little disappointed that he doesn't show up with Bethany/Carver in Act 2, when Warden Alistair does have a cameo.

Well Loghain has been stationed in Orlais, it doesn't really make sense for him to be in Kirkwall. Plus David Gaider has a thing for Loghain so I think it makes it more likely that we will see him in the future. Some of the DA:O rumors in Kirkwall make sense. Kirkwall doesn't really like people from Ferelden which probably means they don't like Ferelden. Some of what the Warden does is so fantastical, so legendary, it makes sense for people having a hard time believing it all.
