Kasumi:Stealing memory was fun. I loved the James Bond feel, half hitman half monk.

while it was dreadfully short I loved the crashed quarian ship assignment, hold the line.

Suicide mission is probably the best,"we cerberus agents have got your back Shepard,we'll volunteer for stuff we are clearly not qualified for." and boom goes Jacobs face. The sense of danger was good, worrying about teammates survival, harby got kind of annoying,I also love the first part of the mission where you charge through and hit the gates,I always speed run that part,Mattock is just disgustingly effective for that part.

Overlord. The end is a little sad seeing david.

Miranda LM, at the beginning, when you do the renegade interruption you can see a salarian with a =O face.

Noveria. Because of the many different ways to solve the mission, the melancholic mood and the best music of the series.

No one has mentioned the Normandy Crash Site. You people disgust me.

It was... one of the more chilling, depressing moments in the game. The flashbacks, the cold tranquility of it all... in a way, it was beautiful.

For me it'd be a choice of:

boarding the disabled Collector ship
retrieving the Reaper IFF
and the suicide mission.

Suicide Mission tops the list from me, the only finale that has made my face turn inside out on several occasions.

That was quite well done actually. You've also reminded me that I forgot to mention the intro sequence - walking through the burning Normandy and emerging into the CIC, with the roof blown off and the only sound being Shepard's breathing, was one of the most memorable sequences in any game I've ever played. Its a bit of a shame I knew about it beforehand from the trailers and whatnot, but it was still fantastic.

Hmmmm definatly the suicide mission, everything from the pacing, to the cut scenes and the whole epicness tops the list for me, saying that i loved the battle of the citideal at the end of ME1 aswel.

Virmire for me as well, for all of the reasons the OP stated.

The Suicide Mission would be my runner up. It failed to surpass Virmire in that squad mate deaths were easily avoidable, and people only died if Shepard makes tactical or strategic blunders. That being said the gameplay in that mission was a lot of fun, and I loved that it involved the entire squad and not just two of your squadmates.

Mass Effect: Noveria, I love this planet great characters, music, missions, and a tough choice at the end. It was the pinnacle of Mass Effect for me.

Mass Effect 2: Mordin: Old Blood, it adds more perspective into the genophage and an interesting choice at the very end. Not to mention it adds depth to a fantastic character in Mordin.

Pure gameplay, I would probably choose Arrival or Dossier: The Assassin.

ME1: Virmire by far because of how many major decisions you must make on this one mission. Also talking to Soverign and confronting Saren.
I enjoyed Noveria as well because it took some time to complete and i really enjoyed meeting liara's mother and the whole deal with the Rachni.

ME2: Achangel mission for the simple reason that you get garrus back, i mean common, when you first see achangel take off his helmet and garrus's face pops out, it just puts a smile on your face.
Samara and Thane's loyalty missions because its a nice change of pace and gets really deep into their personallitiy.
           Finally the Suicide mission.

Virmire without a doubt. Kirrahe's speech, Wrex, Kaidan / Ash, confrontation with Saren, confrontation with Sovereign, revelation and epic OST to boot.

Noveria comes second.

Mordin's LM.

"Refuse to believe life ends here. Too wasteful. Have more to offer. Mistakes to fix. Cannot end here. Could do so much more."

Whenever I do that mission, I play Dust for Dust from the FFXIII soundtrack in the back. (  ) After the flashbacks, I'll sit there and remember ME1. It's been a while since I re started from ME1 on my most recent and now canon Shep.

Favorite mission is LOtSB though. MAINLY because the music gets me SO AMPED with waves and waves of agents coming at the team.

Next would be Virmire, and Tali's loyalty mission. Favorite squadmate, and race conflict.

My top 3=]

the first time maybe. but the way it was set up as a scavenger hunt for flashy light dogtags REALLY sucked me out of the moment. it had the potential to be really moving, but instead feels like a chore everytime i do it.

for a mission to be truely great in my eyes, i gotta be able to do it 20 times and still have it be great.

Thane's recruitment mission and the parts of Lair of the Shadow Broker that were on Illium. The scenery of Illium was just beautiful from high up, and the music for both those missions was amazing.

i actually liked samaras loyalty mission. just because they made interesting without having to add battles. also they part where morinth and samara are pushing their biotics is intense. it kills me when i choose morinth over samara though.
i also love the suicide mission. the first time i played especially, because it wasnt perfect.

Mass Effect 1:

Seeing the Geth pray at the alter during feros was so unexpected for me, I love that moment.
Virmire because of Sovereign's Speech - still gives me chills.
Ilos because of the atmosphere and music - really well executed.
Citadel when being attacked - Seeing Sovereign leg move up and down and making those "Reaper" sounds were epic!

Mass Effect 2:

Suicide Mission - Atmosphere, the music, had my adrenaline going too.
Overlord - One of my favourite moments of the game was when you go into that Virtual Reality phase.
Lair of the Shadow Broker - Was just amazing overall.

ME: Eden Prime: First time we see the Geth, Saren, and Sovereign.
Ilos/Citadel, just for being epic, and because driving past 4 Collosus into a relay in the Mako is always a bit tense.

ME2:
A House Divided: it shows the differences between the Geth, and explains a lot about them. I think the dialogue was well-written for this mission, making the Geth appear as complex as organic species. For expample, when Legion finds the heretic Geth have been spying on them, he says"How did we become so different? What did we do wrong?" One of my favorite lines in both games.

The Suicide Mission is another favorite.

ME1:
The Port Hanshan section of Noveria - So many ways to do things, so many ways to get your objective. Some pretty funny dialogue as well.
Virmire - By far the best paced section of the first game, a lot of major decisions and revelations, more so than in any other missions. Was far more important to the story as a whole than the other three major missions combined, almost seems like they just packed all of the story content in to one hour of the game and forgot to put it into the rest.
Ilos/The Citadel - Ilos was the best in terms of atmosphere, and the conversation with Vigil is my personal favourite part of the entire series. The crazy run to the Conduit is... well, crazy, and the rest of the game is really quite intense.

ME2:
Thane's Recruitment - There's a wonderful feeling about infiltrating the construction site of a skyscraper owned by a power crazy entrepreneur, taking out waves of her mercs, pushing one out of the window, not to assassinate her, not to stop someone assassinating her, but just to get a chance to meet the assassin. What Shepard should be doing more often.

Overlord - Best in the series in terms of gameplay variety, with a good amount of great firefights, a hub world type thing, vehicle sections with a little bit of platforming and generally a nice amount of new and interesting mechanics at each stage of the mission. The virtual reality bit at the end was incredible, as was the atmosphere generally, and the story was really good. The ending was awfully sad.

Lair of the Shadow Broker - Simply put, the best firefights, the best atmosphere, the best dialogue, the best mission structure, the best dialogue, the best level design, the best pacing and the best boss battles in the entire series. If that's what Mass Effect 3's going to be like, I can't ****ing wait!
