Just canceled my pre-order from Play.com and orderded from Steam instead. It seams That Royal mail in the UK are Striking on Friday 6th Nov (Release Day) and on Monday 9th Nov so I may not be able to play the game until a week after release date what with backlog in the system ect, Not that I'm against them stiking they work very hard in all weathers...but I've been waiting so long for release day I just cannont wait any longer!

Because as we all know, there is no such thing as a strike in a republic, and all postmen have fair working conditions.

You do realise that they still won't be striking by then? Just use express del. Play use Parcel force or UPS can't remember which.

No, in a republic mail carriers don't strike - they just shoot people. Sure, someone dies every few years, but we have 299,999,999+ replacements!

You can't replace a timely video game delivery.

That's weird, the place I ordered from usually sends out their shipments 1-2 days early so it will arrive just on the day of the release.

Or order from Game UK who have already said that their deliverys aren't going to be effected by the strike.

Amazon use City Link so I'm ok (I hope!)

I did think of that myself, having pre-ordered from Game. Fortunately my experience with them is that they normally dispatch to arrive 1-2 days in advance of the actual release date (certainly happened with Uncharted 2 which was the most recent thing I ordered from them). I'm not sure about play.com or amazon. Agree it's a gamble though!

Harsh. :(

At least if the game shop I'm getting mine from doesn't get it, then everyone suffers! :P

Ordered from game many months ago. Status of my CE from them is released for packing/shipping, so expect it to go out Monday.

Good thing I live in Sweden then. I'm desperate as it is don't need any more delays for whatever reason there may be.

IMHO, Steam is a good deal. It sucks not to have a physical DVD and book, but you get all of that in digital format + extra content.

Not a bad trade-off considering that, with Steam, you will have the game forever on as many computers as you want and don't have to worry about scratches/lost DVD.

I ordered mine about a week ago from game.co.uk, express delivery is half price with the strike going on and they guarantee delivery either before or on release day.

It's only costing me £23 with my game card and the offer they have, i think that is a bargain.

game.co.uk may send them out earlier then usual as well, just to stay away from the strike dates, i'd rather take that chance and get it early cuz i'm not really bothered if i get it a few days late either.
