I've ordered from Gamestation (after Amazon changed the relase date for my order to 9/11/09!!) and they have promised that they won't be using Royal Mail and I'll have the game by release. I actually got an e-mail from them yesterday saying my card had been accepted and the game was being boxed for shipping - hope this means I may actually get it a bit early
Royal mail strike on day of release :(

Ye I thought about the whole strike thing so I ordered it to be couriered through amazon. Only about another £4 or so it's no biggy. There'll be hell to pay if I don't have it Friday morning though!
Bloody Royal Mail, I've got no sympathy for the useless knobs, we're in a recession and they're striking because they don't think they're getting fair pay..... no one is, it's a recession you ****s... you're not helping anyone by striking!
Apologies, going off topic there, I'm just riled that they're jeopradising my ability to get DAO on the 6th?

Yeah it looks like the staff are actually shooting themselves in the foot. You have the right to strike but with the country in a recession and now you're causing the company you work for to lose business, doesn't make sense to me. Just be glad you're in a job and suck it up like the rest of us have to

game.co.uk may send them out earlier then usual as well, just to stay away from the strike dates, i'd rather take that chance and get it early cuz i'm not really bothered if i get it a few days late either.
I was thinking this about play.com too. Quite often I've received games from them the day before the official release. It may come Thursday. If not, the backup plan is just to go into town and buy it in person on Friday!
I wondered about this issue for us here in the UK - didn't know they were actually planning to strike on the 6th though. Bummer. I don't get many things through the mail any more that I actually need, but this is starting to become kind of a hassle.
It's not going to affect my Dragon Aging though!

Sorry to hear that the strikes are still in full effect. Hopefully the company you ordered with has got an alternative in place so you won't have to wait.

Got a message on Friday from GAME saying the game had been released for packing. Soooo.... really hope the game gets delivered before the strike is full effect. Fingers crossed.
