I'm playing the legacy downloadable, and I seem to be stuck.  I got past the opening arena and got into the fortress.  There is the fight with the two brontos and tons of guards outside of the gates.  I killed them all and looted everything I could find in all the nearby rooms. 

But I don't have the key to open the gates.

Any idea how to open the gates?

Have you gone down the stairs on the right side of the gate?
