 I went to get darkspawn bloods i didnt count how many i got, i cleared the kocari wilds map and went back to town and i talked with duncan and i say to him i got the vials but not the scrolls and he gives me exp,
but the problem is i can keep doing it unlimited times right infront of him, 

talk , exp >talk, exp> talk, exp, talk > exp> talk exp. i m just standing there n getting free exp!
i thought that i may have gotten too many vials but no, it really is unlimited exp.
maybe can even do with only 3 vials.

i think cause vials n scrolls is 1 quest but since u giv vials he giv u exp, but it is still not the criteria to really complete the quest? so can do it forever!

edit: i've gotten from lv 4 to lv 8 for my pc and alistair. davideth and jory cant seem to gain exp at all.
