i am level 37 at the moment and i've completed a survival and time trial. but hunt is hard as hell. Tips

Take Wrex and Liara with you. Lift/Throw the enemies off the edge of the screen for insta-kill.
Hammerhead rounds tend to be the best, as it has a horrible habit of spawning geth if you equip shredder ammo, and organics if you equip AP ammo.

If you're talking about shield piercing and proton that's probably about the worst ammo choice. If you're talking about cryo ok.

Shotgun plus proton rounds usually means 2-3 shots mid range to die. Close range is just one shot.
I've been thinking of singularity, then sometimes warp followed by throw or lift and throw. I hate it if the guys are lifted and i don't have throw - it just eats time.

I recommend pausing all the time to aim and pick the best path. Much easier that way.

I see your mistake here...
Save Pinnacle Station for last... you need to level up as much as possible and get the best equipment.
Especially on Hardcore and upwards.
On Insanity, you may as well forget it unless you're on a New Game+, as it pretty much requires the best equipment on a Level 60 character, and it's still a ragefest, lol.

Finished at level 40 hardcore with URSA VI medium armour and kinetic buffer VII
