Well, here is what I usually do :
Buff up to the max - and use your metamagic feats wisely! Extend and Empower really come in handy here! Then scout under Invis or Hide, whatever. For large m0bs, retreat, lay traps, then hit one of the more powerful with a DA, hack on it a bit, then retreat to the traps, let them go up, then disappear...invis, whatever.
For Bosses, you can either do a DA, or, if they seem to be out of bounds, then slay them with copious amounts of magic.
Remember, with a high DC, DA lasts a LOOOOOOONG time! You can afford to hit with it, then retreat and come back later.
I normally do not use spells unless absolutely necessary other than the buffing. With the Fast Rod of Buffing, that usually takes care of pesky clickfests. You will probably have to do Flame Weapon and Greater Magic Weapon manually, so that both of your dual wielded weapons are affected (you have to target the weapons themselves manually on the paper doll, NOT click on your figure ingame - that namely only affects your main hand weapon).
Of course, you could go with a double weapon - that saves on spells.

UMD: you need 24 to be able to cast scrolls with 0% failure (inc cha modifier)
SET Traps: is 15 for all traps except deadly gas (inc modifiers and take 20)
SEARCH: you can get away with very little in many campaigns, including OC. Searching against another PC who set traps means you need to max it out and even then it can be impossible.
LISTEN/SPOT: Listen is better than spot and allows you to 'see' through walls and possibly see invisible people ... apparently... Can't say it ever happened to me much *grin*. SPot works over a longer distance tho iirc sooooo . Wiki explains the search mechanics webshamen mentioned very well.
...and yip, ass as sin's need more skill points!
Have fun

Yea I'm running Mick's build Ranger10/Assassin28/SD2. So far its pretty damn good. I'm in chapter 2 of the OC. The only thing I hate is the lack of skill points so I can't pick locks myself. I have to keep switching around henchmen. I usually use Linu the Cleric but everytime I come across a chest we can't bash, I have to switch Linu out for Tomi. It's definitely becoming a pain. Otherwise so far so good. DA has made things much easier at times. Very cool.
