Dispel Magic - what's the best tactics set-up for it? There isn't a way to automatically target an enemy that's powering up a spell, is there?
What's a good tactics set for Dispel Magic?

enemy: buff: any buff: use current condition for next tactic
enemy: Elite or higher: dispel
"enemy: using magic attack" does not work the way it should

So this only works on enemies who use power-up abilities, yeah? There's no way to direct the companion AI at those glowing spheres of death that DA2 mages so like to cast?

Yeah its not a very useful ability. Low damage, buffs are just recast seconds later by enemies, and low cooldown means that your companion mages will often use all their mana killing buffs.
I just run it:
Self Mana Stamina > 50%, Use condition for next tactic
Enemy Has Buff At Short Range, Dispel

The problem with not assigning a rank is that any creature receiving the buff becomes a target rather than the source of the buff, the elite.

It interrupts spells, abilities, sustained abilites, channeled spells, and effects affecting your allies.

Why would you want to direct them toward the damage sphere?
"enemy: nearest visable mage" does work.

I was wondering what skills actually can interrupt the casting, besides dispel magic. Stone Fist? any other?

anything that has sufficent force to cause the interrupt.
interrupt is less than stumble
stumble is less than knockback
knockback is less than knockdown.

I prefer to use things like horror and knockdowns for interruption.
Dispel is useless in my opinion besides breaking enemy mage shields, which can just be waited out. I mean I use it sometimes for merrill as supplemental damage against buffed enemies, but I don't hold it in high regard.

It seems that Pull from the abyss is superb for this purpose then.
