Should Bioware set up really horrific and sad events based on your background in ME3?

Like, the reds all get killed right in front of you for a Earthborn Shepard, possibly seeing the city you grew up in being wiped out.

Or a spacer seeing his/her mother's ship (through a window, or above you in the intro, ect) fighting a reaper and losing, blowing up the ship and killing her.

Or a colonist witnessing a news feed of Mindoir getting completely wiped out, the whole colony dead or taken by the reapers.

It would add some major drama, and make the fight with the reapers that much more personal.

I would like the backgrounds to be more meaningful in ME3 but they don't necessarily have to be "horrific and sad". Also, I doubt Shepard would care much about the Reds.

It was fairly beaten to Hell, and a good part of the colony was taken. But it is a fact that the Alliance showed up before they were done rounding everyone up (the only reason Shepard wasn't taken when it happened).  Besides, it was still a colony, with usable building and architecture and stuff, so it was likely repopulated eventually.

One of the devs said it will have more of an impact in ME3.

So that means instead of one email, we get TWO! or maybe even 2 lines of actual DIALOGUE!

I don't care about the Reds. Racist ****s.

I expect them to play more meaningful roles then just those (which are bad, except for Hannah Shepard's),

Hey, if you've got better ideas, post them. It's not like I actually believe my ideas are the absolute best anyone could come up with. They were just examples.

Where is Shepard going to live when he's on earth for the trial? I think your background is going to play into that.

Earthborn -- back in the old neighborhood... possibly having to deal with old scores people try to settle.

Spacer -- You're home for the trial and staying at a guest quarters on station... Guess who comes to visit?

Colonist -- No everyone who went to Mindoir took their entire family... There have to be friends and family left behind on earth.

You seem to think I'm angry. I was serious, if you have better ideas, post them. I actually want to hear them.

Nah not dramatic dark stories full of pain, loss, violence and anger. I only hate dramatic love scenes, the constant coddling and crooning. Crying while admitting love or something along those lines. I'm a hopeless romantic, I can't take it serious.

Think of twilight lizardviking, just one big overated love story, a battle between wolves and vampires with a love triangle at the epicentre. That is what I can not stand.

I wouldn't be too upset seeing the reds get blowing up-I mean they did try to poison an entire colony of Turians just for the lulz.

But yeah I like the idea of seeing the SSV Orizaba (Hannah Shepard's ship) getting blown to smithereens.

What bad king said. But how will the other backgrounds experience loss? I'd imagine earthborn Would find their mother is a prostitute and the father was client.

Earthborn: You encounter some old peer that showed you a small amount of kindness in a rather bleak childhood. Perhaps an old vet from the Alliance which influenced you to join up. You have the option of helping them escape or letting them die.

Spacer: Your mother's ship has been attacked and destroyed. Escape pods have been launched to a nearbye moon where husks and other Reaper lackeys are known to have been deployed. Do you go to investigate or move on and leave them for dead?

Colonist: There's a resistance group on Mindoir of which the girl from the ME1 colonist side quest is a member. She claims the Reapers have set up a proverbial husks factory on Mindoir, and requests your aide. She claims that there may be valuable tech in the factory to help defeat the husks. Do you go to help your old home colony and the girl or do you leave them to their fate?
