 Good day,

I have gathered that this bug seems to have cropped up a few times with some people. To put it simply, I seem to have lost the following achievements:

Missing in Action
Very Elusive
The Convict
The Krogan
The Archangel
The Professor
The Justicar
The Assassin
Colony Defense
The Prodigal
Ghost of the Father
Catharsis
Battlemaster
Fade Away
The Cure
Treason
Doppelganger
Cat's in the Cradle
Revenge

This seems to be linked with my recent installation of the DLC, specifically all the gun/armour packs and the mission packs. I have however gained some achievements, such as the achievement for Kasumi's loyalty mission and the achievement for surviving the battle for object rho. Any post-DLC achievements are seemingly registered.

This means that I cannot acquire advanced training powers from the squadmates besides Kasumi (whose loyalty mission I had completed after the installations). 

Interestingly, as I am currently playing on an older save (I decided I wanted to go back and get the revenant instead of the claymore at the collector ship), I actually have the same problem and the same set of achievements shaded out as I did on my original saves. I did not know that achievements actually carried across saves like that.

As you would imagine, this is extremely inconvenient as if I have to start a new game, this will mean that I have wasted roughly 80 something hours worth of gameplay for the sake of one bug. I will take this directly to the EA tech support base if I can't get help, the replies I've seen thus far for people with this problem from the general public haven't been all that helpful. It seems to stump most people. This is the only real problem I have had with mass effect 2 so far, and it's irritating that it's quite a big one.

Is there anything I can do about this? I really would rather not have to go through Mordin, Garrus and Grunt's loyalty missions, or even start the game again (I don't have the achievement you get for starting the game).

Its a problem with the player1.prf file either getting deleted, or becoming corrupted. That is the file which contains your achievements. Not much can be done about it, apart from advising you to back up the file regularly, and possibly go to the mass effect wiki to learn how to create a keybind through coalesced.ini modding to get all the achievements back.

Well, thank you for letting me know, Bogsnot. I think I'll just reinstall mass effect 2 and cut the nonsense, make sure it's all back to square one and such just to be safe.

I do wish Bioware had made it clearer that spending money and buying their DLC (roughly for the same amount of money that I could spend on another standalone game), then taking a few hours to actually get the awful installers to work on my computer, could actually cause me to waste all of my gameplay or force me to use modding tools. Thank you.
