With the exception of the OP's posts this has been a very interesting thread and some good points are being made all around.

It's ok, I wasn't much fond of yours either.

Sorry if my posts didn't contain enough Origins fanboying for you, I'd try working on it in future but I prefer DA2 so...

I have no doubts of that.

And others are dismissing mine, it's called arguing your case/opinion. I only once accused somone of something they didn't say because I misread the word are/aren't. I acknowledged the mistake; unlike others. The fanboys are constantly puting words into my mouth and saying things I've never said or implied to get a point across. And to be honest, I don't care if you dislike the tone of my argument. Other threads are that way >>>

Lol, you aren't arguing a damn thing. You are saying "I'm right and you're wrong. Deal with it." You offer no actual facts or even a true platform for discussion. And any time someone actually tries to refute you, you respond with "No, you're wrong."

What have you argued? All I see are some fanboys that have convinced themselves that somehow DA 2 was changed for the better. Reality check, sales would state otherwise.

Oh look, this statement again. Just because some of us like DA2 it does not mean that we are "fanboys". And honestly, idgaf about sales. Some of us actually prefer to judge something without taking a look at what the majority thinks.

I also like it, but I won't argue that DA 2 is somehow better. It's every bit as flawed as the original.

And that is your OPINION. Some of us prefer DA2. How about respecting that instead of dismissing those people as "fanboys"?

The day you stop dismissing my like of Origins.

I would agree, if the skills actually had a real purpose in the game. If it was something like the skills in KotOR or Fallout, then it would be cool and they would serve a purpose. KotOR was fun because you could build up a certain skill and they would actually provide real, tangible benefits (Hacking computers to wipe out enemy groups, reprograming droids to aid you, slicing compartments for looting, steathing ahead to lay mines or, in KotOR 2, using mines to blow open certain containers).

I actually do want the skills to matter more instead of just giving everyone blanket access. And this is where I had hoped the skills would be refined or managed better or made better use of in-game. But when you see skill trees that are all combat related then you know you're pretty much going to be fighting your way out of everything and fighting my way out of everything is boring.

Lol, and earlier you said that DA:O was record breaking and deserved to be placed on a pedestal. You also said that Bioware was placing too much influence on its flaws because they were not at all broken. But now you say that both are equaly flawed? Don't make me laugh. You are either a troll or as dense as a brick.

KotOR also allowed you to use the skills to access special dialogue options. There is a reason that KotOR is my favorite Bioware game, despite my absolute hatred of Carth Onasi.

What I don't understand is if people don't like this game why bother live on these forums day in day out just to whine? I mean OK we get it some don't enjoy DA2, but they're the same ones who can't put the game down. Still playing the game to come up with more stuff to nit pick. Its been 5mths just move on already. Seems most have waaaay too much time on their hands. lol

Reality check

This right here is your problem. You, as others have said, are just dismissing other people's opinions as wrong.

And you aren't dismissing mine as wrong. Am I missing something?

When did I ever say that you're wrong for thinking DA2 is crud, or the Origins is awesome?

You just said that everyone who likes DA2 needs a reality check. All I'm doing is trying to point out why people think you're being arrogant.

I came here to vent, if you can't respect a differing opinion, why join the thread?

"It's every bit as flawed as the original." Your words. So, if both games are equally flawed, then which one you like more is merely an opinion and both games must have some aspects that are broken and need to be fixed or removed? Why, that sounds exactly like what Mike Laidlaw has suggested. OMG!

No, the level of calling people dumb.

I refuse to believe that you didn't actually know what I was talking about.

I think Slim Couldry's quests could be something they can expand on. For instance one quest had you use poison to either knock unconscious or kill the noble you want to steal. Stealing, coercion and stealth were also implemented. More quests like that would go a long way to making them more relevant.

Yes, more quests like Slim Couldry's would be very welcome. Have a whole line of quests like those for the different skills (while also allowing for skills to be used in other quests, in meaningful ways).

At least like that it would feel like your skills really matter and make a difference.

Of course I get singled out for defending myself. Surprise surpise. I've been called everything from liar, to dense. Let's be consistent if we're going to single people out.

There are a couple of special dialogue options available in Origins if you have super high Cunning, but that's only early in the game. And they don't actually have an effect on the game except for feeling slightly less stupid when you talk to Flemeth. I'd like to have seen things like that throughout the game.

Err, what?   That is exactly what everyone else in the thread except you is saying up until now.  Both games are flawed. Even the Devs said that.  They don't have the same flaws, but they both have them.

What is your actual point then?   That you like DAO more than DA2?  Great.   I liked DA2 more than DAO.   There's nothing to argue about there.

Though there should be mage only and warrior only quests as well.
