Hey, let's not stoop to that level.

What a level that has an opinion differnt than yours. I know, the horror.

No, the level of calling people dumb.

I refuse to believe that you didn't actually know what I was talking about.

I didn't call people dumb

I was defending you when people did call you dumb.

I also like it, but I won't argue that DA 2 is somehow better. It's every bit as flawed as the original.

Err, what?   That is exactly what everyone else in the thread except you is saying up until now.  Both games are flawed. Even the Devs said that.  They don't have the same flaws, but they both have them.

What is your actual point then?   That you like DAO more than DA2?  Great.   I liked DA2 more than DAO.   There's nothing to argue about there.

My point is, DA:O has flaws but it was obviously better implmented, and not rushed. The sales numbers don't lie. These are my opinions, don't like 'em, that's tough,

I think Slim Couldry's quests could be something they can expand on. For instance one quest had you use poison to either knock unconscious or kill the noble you want to steal. Stealing, coercion and stealth were also implemented. More quests like that would go a long way to making them more relevant.

Yes, more quests like Slim Couldry's would be very welcome. Have a whole line of quests like those for the different skills (while also allowing for skills to be used in other quests, in meaningful ways).

At least like that it would feel like your skills really matter and make a difference.

Agreed. I'd like to see some more quests involving poisoning my enemies or putting them to sleep or whatever. They also need to improve how those skills work when used. Crafting was flawed. IMO of course.

Though there should be mage only and warrior only quests as well.

Agreed. I liked the Slim Couldry quest line, but it was a shame that you could only get it as a rogue.

I got it as a mage I think. Give stealth to Leliana and stealing to your PC.

Yes.

I suggest having "dream quests" for mages, with a single demon stalking us throughout the game. That way, it would feel less like our mages have plot armor and that we are actual mages. And more fun all around.

There are a couple of special dialogue options available in Origins if you have super high Cunning, but that's only early in the game. And they don't actually have an effect on the game except for feeling slightly less stupid when you talk to Flemeth. I'd like to have seen things like that throughout the game.

Yeah, if we are going to have skills, I would like them to have a real effect on both combat, dialogue and utility options.

Somebody never played a Dalish Elf rogue with maxed out stealth skills who would scout ahead and set traps, then pull and herd enemies into said traps.  I dedicated a whole playthrough to this with completly different combat tactics than in previous playthroughs with toons with other skills. I also had a blast doing it.

The skills weren't necessary but damn they were fun to tinker and play with.

I did that, it was fun.

I also enjoyed survival, posion making and herbalism lots. It went well with a trapper game style.

Go rent DAO for the 360/PS3 or play DAO inmodded, make Anora queen, play an archer without putting any points in str, keep on selling items to one merchant and raise Leli's approval too quickly. You will not have fun.

I didn't mod or patch for a long time and had loads of fun. In fact I didn't patch until I had too (awakening requirement) because I didn't want the game made easier. I didn't have issues with anything listed in the first two patch note lists. 1.03 broke dao and awakening crashed like mad. (I did not have the holy smite crash at least).
So much for making my gameplay better. bah

Telling people to not discuss on a discussion forum seems silly to me.

If you don't like it, there are other threads you can go vent in as well. I don't think your reception at any of those will be much different though. :?

Hm iirc if you speak to the Hahren during the Dalish quest you get a special [magic] dialogue. But that's the only special dialogue for mages that I've seen.

I didn't say you couldn't discuss in my venting thread, many of you have; I don't mind. But complaining about my venting because you hate the content of my venting is Edit: that's even fine, but you should respect my opinion, and my right to express it.

Venting usually doesn't allow for reasoned discourse. Especially when you refuse to accept the opinions of others.

Or: Posted Image People who like DA2 are of very limited value for anyone trying to understand what went wrong with DA2.
People who deny anything went wrong, even less.

I haven't seen anyone denying your opinions. I have seen people attempting to explain to you how DA2 had choices and how DA:O's choices were not impactful and address several other points of contention. I have also seen you ignore all that and complain about how people are attacking you and how anyone who doesn't agree with you is a fanboy. So...Yeah, you don't want to discuss anything. You want to complain.
