I don't know if this is the wrong forum, but for whatever reason I cannot post in either of the (SPOILER) forums and I don't know why. I'm trying to get my non player controlled tank to actually "tank" anything other than simply what's right in front of him. I can manage to get him to attack something that's attacking a party member, but I can't get him to run to it, taunt then attack. He will just stand where he is to use taunt then run over to the party member. If I have taunt after the attack he will run up, attack, taunt then just stop what he's doing as though confused. I would also like for him to actually go back to hitting the highest hit point creature after that (which I have as my last tactic) instead of just wailing away on the enemy that *was* hitting a party member but is no longer.
Another problem is, you can't set it up so that he will only run to hit an enemy that is hitting a party member with a melee attack only, it will force you to use "abilities" and you have no option for "attack" with this setting. So you're forced to use "Enemy attacking party member: Name" for the basic attack command.
I also can't seem to find a balance between "Defensive" and "Aggressive" behaviours because one will happily rush into area of effect spells and die while the other just stands there looking stupid even when enemies are rushing in if they haven't attacked anyone yet. Any help would be appreciated. Having to manually control everything the tank does in between enemies on random fights with a lot of enemies is pretty annoying.
Has anyone found a good tanking "tactics" setup?

Well, I can help with one thing: you need to register your game on this site before you can post in spoilers. Had me stumped for a week, thought I was banned. Otherwise I haven't tried the complexities you have with the tank. My first character, I wasn't using Taunt except on a boss, just keep threaten up all the time and using lots of CC with two mages. Then I switched to a tank character as my PC, and dual-wielding. She does so much damage, AoE and otherwise, that so far she hasn't needed the Taunt skill line at all, or to be in Threaten mode. I guess playing a tank as your PC isn't much of a solution, though. Good luck.

Honestly I found myself having to play the tank more than any other party member. It seems like it's far easier to set up tactics for damage or healing (but not both!) and then have direct control of the tank yourself. But maybe that's just personal preference from my days of WoW off-tanking.
