First up, my problem is not with the demo, its the full game (disc version), but I can't post to the other forum so I'm doing it here.
So I getthe following error when I try to launch the game:
"C:\\Windows\\system32\\d3dx9_43.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support."

Here are my system specs:
Processor: Core i7, 2.0GHz
Memory: 6GB
Video: GeForce GT 525M
OS: Windows 7 64-bit

I've tried all the suggested fixes for directX related problems, i.e. the ones for the "missing d3dx9_43.dll" problems. I also tried updating the video driver, then I tried rolling back to the 270.x version of the driver, all to no avail.

If it's of any relevance, DA:O runs fine, I actually finished it today right before installing DA2

You only have just one Icon showing under your Avatar for one game. Look under mine for all three games' Icons. You need all three there to post in all forums (four if we include that MMO, whatever it is). I don't recall which "2" or "II" is for DA2 out of my three. When you can post in the correct forum, someone can offer to help there.

Since you are technically off topic here, no matter that you believe you have an excuse, I think I would also be off topic to answer about DX9.0c
