One game series...gone from existence. Forever. Which one should it be? In what way will its elimination benefit the universe?

I anticipate 90% of the answers being Call of Duty.

Good question.

COD. They aren't bad games, they've just hijacked the entire industry.

No, WoW needed to happen. Someone had to drag MMORPG gameplay principles kicking and screaming out of the dark ages. As much as you may hate WoW, MMO gameplay was even worse before it for the most part. Not in all ways, but in general.

I think I'd probably kill **** like Guitar Hero/Rock Band. Get the **** out of my entertainment hobby, casuals. Stop skewing the demographic.

No, no, no, by eliminating WoW you're also eliminating Warcraft.

Everything after (and including) 'Spacewar'. Then we could all own an oscilloscope. Wouldn't that be awesome.

Funny how people can't even read the topic.. game SERIES isn't the same thing as single games. World of Warcraft or Dragon Age: Origins are single games, not a series of games.

I'd get rid of pokemon and everything to do with pokemon myself.

Fine Dragon Age series. Feel better? I'd get rid of everything Dragon Age Origins just because it popped into my head.

Most of the Final Fantasy series could take a flying leap into the void as far as I'm concerned.

I'd probably go with the Diablo series. Mostly to eliminate the scourge of Diablo clones that followed, and the effect those games had on the RPG genre.

Mass Effect because they implemented some of the stuff from that game into Dragon Age. Not something I liked in the end.

But why?

I would say Call of Duty: the first two were alright but then they took a turn for the worse, and their massive following has forced pretty much every dev in that same basic area (shooters) to follow suit, often to the detriment of those games. From Splinter Cell Conviction to Mass Effect.

This. I would not tolerate it's existence. No more fanboys going on and on about it.

I gave my reason purely because it popped into my head. Did you really not read that? If it's the only way to save the world from the horror of DA2 well then so be it.

I'd also like to add Assassin's Creed series mainly because of the crap drm I had to face when I first bought the games.
