To be clear -

the game disgusts me too, but I think mature, responsible adults do not need to be coddled and should be allowed the fantasies of their choice in games... even if those fantasies are being murderous thugs who run over people and beat the crap out of hookers.

I won't play the games, and I wish they didn't exist (because no one else wanted to play them either), but I don't think they should be censored or banned.

It's a fine line.

My answer is still GTA.

I actually am pressed for time, so I can't comment in as much depth as I want...

But I witnessed a car-jacking and was the 1st one to the poor woman who got her nose broken by a man twice her size and weight who then tossed her to the pavement (without removing her seat-belt BTW) and almost ran over her with her own car.

Not pretty.

I'm in no way for censorship! I agree with you MerinTB...I wish the franchise didn't exist because it didn't interest other-wise decent people.

You people are silly. GTA- lifestyle woks perfectly in real life! I get to school every morning by shooting someone and taking his/her car. And I get money for soda by beating people with a baseball bat until green, shiny things float above the ground.

Hmm reminds me of SR:2 when I jump out of a plane and my followers come with me. And I'm the only one with a chute. I tend to watch and listen, then pull my string at just the right time.

EDIT Also, yes it isn't like the other GTA's and thats the problem. GTA VC is the last GTA game I cared to play.

As I said I was a bit pressed for time.

I was no hero nor did I in any way indicate that I wanted to be seen as one. I was a witness, no more...I saw in real life what is portrayed in GTA and was commenting on the fact that, once you see it for real GTA may not be as appealing.

What I saw was well before GTA came out...it was in Los Angeles at the time when Car Jackings were becoming the crime of choice because it's such an easy way to steal a car.

I'm sure Rockstar doesn't need you defending them...in fact, they only made a name for themselves because of the flak this game brought upon them, so I'm pretty sure they'd ask you to shut up and stop "defending" them because it's getting in the way of their ability to Market to guys that feel the need to prove they can be tough in a pixel world.

And no...I didn't pay any attention to the characters in GTA IV because 5 minutes of the original GTA was enough to let me know I felt comfotable enough as a Man that I didn't feel the need to beat on women in a Game.

And believe me whan I tell you that not only was I not trying to "impress" you, but I don't even care who you are.

Yep, and I can honestly say that I never bought, played, nor had any inkling to want to play any of the GTA series (or any facsimile, like Saint's Row). I thought they were of poor taste let alone anything thought of as being fun to play.

I'd have to say, get rid of the COD series. I loved Modern warfare, but everything after it is the same style and now it seems most shooters out there want to be like MW as well. I see what happened to Battlefield Bad Company and how that was a cool very individual game in style, to when BBC2 came out, and it played and was styled like MW.
