If you could eliminated any game series from existence, which one would it be?

I like Infinity Ward's CoD games, not the Treyarch garbage, but I guess that makes me a n00b. Image IPB

I think we should get rid of the Mario franchise. It's time to let that fat, diabetic, plumber have a cardiac infarction and bury him so Nintendo can rely on a different franchise.

While we're at it lets kill Zelda too.

As a person who just played his first Final fantasy game last year (XIII), I must say I'm disappointed by all the hate.

Just Dance for the Wii. Why? I work in game retail. One of my frequently asked questions is "Do you have that Katy Perry game for the Wii? My response is always "Yes we have Just Dance 2" Now the average customer will always inevitably retort with "NO its the Katy Perry Game, Firework!" Do I really hate the series only because of the customer base, no. Do I hate how games like this are becoming passable but also understand that there are some who enjoy games like that, yes.

CoD. Although widely popular, CoD has set a terrible example for developer creativity - why waste resources on a unique game when the masses will pick up just about any modern day shooter?

Thank god for developers such as Eidos and Arkane Studios who are trying to innovate FPS's instead of copying them.

I can't think of any game series that are actually detrimental to the world by existing. There are plenty of games I dislike, but I dunno why I'd want to ruin the fun of whomever did enjoy them just because I didn't.

If I could eliminate any one game from existence, Duke Nukem Forever. The jokes about its vaporware status were apparently more fun than the actual game was and I will miss them.

The Witcher so that I never have to listen to the English VA in that game ever again. Yes, I'm aware that it's supposedly decent in Polish (I'm kidding...partially).

Just ignore them. They will always play one FF and will hate all the series if this one game is not good enough for them. The poster above, as an exemple probably never played the retro ones and just cries over FF13 for not being interactive enough. Simply, put it this way: haters are always wrong and you are always right.

Treyarch makes the best CoD games.

Also, KOTOR.

Meh, outside of their zombie modes, it's the same stuff ad infinitum. I was not impressed by World at War or Black Ops.

I anticipate 90% of the answers being Call of Duty.

Heh. You'd be right.

I didn't fully mind the single-player campaign, but the multiplayer? Gah!;)

Well I'd say that WoW counts as a series.  They have, what, three expansions for it now?  The only reason they aren't separate games is because that would make competing demographics for the original.  If it weren't an MMO, you'd bet your ass that WoW would be a series.

Since I don't give a dam n about MMOs, and I hate people using their WoWisms, I'd pick WoW.  It is entirely separate from the RTS Warcrafts, so yes.  Eradicate it.

I gotta laugh at how everyone seems to just be picking the most popular games.  No one wants to eliminate crappy games that made no splash?  Or cult classic games that everyone rants about?

Yes, yes, yes, ilu. DNF just... sullied my spirit from a very dark and unhealthy place. It was like watching this old, supremely creepy, juiced up uncle who can internet all by himself and ignore all the cameras I put in your room, okay.

The Giant Bomb Quick Look summed up my feelings quite nicely. The fact that he nonchalantly laughs at some bad lady torture doesn't help mind much.

Well along the lines of what you said, I say get rid of BG. Played both of them and hated them so much. Terrible gamplay, old and completely obsolete D&D system(THAC0, WTF is that?), slow story and not exciting at all.

BG hate confuses and infuriates me.

I'd say either The Witcher or Rift (one-game series?), because I'm sick to death of hearing about them without wanting or asking to.

People would notice if a great game is missing over a bad one. I assume anyways.

And on that note I'd elminate Bioshock. I don't get the praise.

Witcher 2 <---- sounds like a one game series?

This
The whole thread is to trash talk on game series you don't like.
I can get behind worst games threads but wanting to elminate them from existance just because you don't like it?  Thats just childish and stupid and I for one refuse to play.

Even the bad games have something going for it when other game companies learn from it.
