BG hate confuses and infuriates me.

Let me just put it this way, I would rather play Icewind Dale than BG. At least they got that one right in term os mechanics and gameplay(sure it lacks character but it plays better.)

Any game that is directly named after a movie that just came out.

I.E star wars: The Phantom Menance , Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1...

I don't mind games based on movie settings , Star Wars Tie Fighter.... but ones named directly after the movies and following the movie plot loosely suck.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed series - Cause compared to the Jedi Knight games, they suck. Big Time.

Final Fantasy - Let me just say that I loved Final Fantasy 6. But that was what.... 1994? How far has the series evolved since that wonderful game? Yeah we have prettier graphics and voiceover now, but what real gameplay innovations has the series made?

Dynasty Warriors - There are a ton of action games that evolved way past the "hack as many enemies as you can" game mechanic. This series however, seems stuck in time.

Mavel videogames by Sega - Unless they can deliver an Arkham Asylum like experience with my favorite superheroes, they should stop making them.

Guitar Hero beat you to it. Suicide by market oversaturation.

EDIT: To the topic, Call of Duty, only because it is a series that hasn't moved an inch in gameplay since CoD 2 debuted in 2005. Loved the first modern warfare, disappointed that MW2 was the same game, lo and behold MW3 seems to repeat the trend.

None of this is helped by Activision's publishing policy (see guitar hero)

The CoD series isn't the issue, the people that play it is.
CoD4 also set the standard for the Multiplayer Experience too, guys. (For consoles anyway)

COD. They aren't bad games, they've just hijacked the entire industry.

Pretty much this, I don't even hate the games themselves but they are so overrated and overhyped it is not even funny.  Any game where I can knock out the single player in 6 to 7 hours is not worth it.

Well along the lines of what you said, I say get rid of BG. Played both of them and hated them so much. Terrible gamplay, old and completely obsolete D&D system(THAC0, WTF is that?), slow story and not exciting at all.

hehe  THAC0 is a short - To Hit Armor Class 0
I like BG but I agree with your second post - imo Icewind Dale plays better.

FF and CoD do not deserve such a fate.

I find it hard to think of any franchise that would deserve it, actually.

I'm sick of people playing CoD being stereotyped, I play CoD but I don't love Grenade Launchers and I don't sing down the microphone.
