If you could eliminated any game series from existence, which one would it be?

@AxeCobl That doesn't mean that they dumped LoK for Tomb Raider. It wasn't generating enough sales so they abandoned that project and moved staff onto other things. I agree it was a stupid decision since LoK has a huge cult following(including myself) but there has been some rumours based what people from CD have said that another LoK game could be possible in the future.
I sure hope so, that would be amazing to see a new Legacy of Kain

I'd have to say the Rayman series and Assassin's Creed series. I didn't like either one personally and the fact that they were made has removed resources from a game that I do want to see come out from Ubisoft....Beyond Good and Evil 2
No worries. Ubi will murder Assasin's Creed soon enough.
Yep, its transformation into a total cash cow is almost complete. Oh and the JRPG haters are forgetting one thing: Skies of Arcadia!

I also don't like the dominance of COD but I suppose it's pushing EA and Dice harder with the Battlefield games. At the same time however look at all the clones. If millions of gamers are happy to keep paying for identical sequels and rip off map packs then it's not my problem so meh.

@Bad King, err what? The last AC game was fantastic and made a lot of improvements over AC2. One thing you can't blame it for is going stale.

they both suck.
Personally I'd probably put Pokemon Red in my top 10 games of all time.

I agree with the whole Zombie premise getting stale.
Just looking at trailers for Dead Island makes me feel sleepy. I feel like I have already played and beaten the game 20 times even though it isn't out yet.

Say what you want but Project Zomboid is really fun and probably scarier than any other zombie game because you know you are going to die and your just trying to see how long you can last.
Also Dead State a zombie rpg is looking good!

In all seriousness, no. I could cite a few Japanese games of questionable value and probably should, but I believe in freedom of artistic expression.

In actuality, the first version of the dialogue wheel was probably in Indigo Prophecy...and it had a timer on it before it would end your conversation if you failed to choose a response. Mass Effect's version is simply more forgiving in that aspect.chiliztri wrote...

Agreed. The question is: without Amy Hennig, how well could the story be told? Not to mention the Elder God's VA passed.

Mainly because it's the perfect example of a game built around grinding endlessly. Catch a new pokemon? Level him up in the grass fields. Want to challenge that new Gym Leader? Hang out in the cave for a while. I used to love pokemon, but it has so much down time associated with it.

thought I should quote the OP as many people are forgetting the last bitsympathy4saren wrote...
One game series...gone from existence. Forever. Which one should it be? In what way will its elimination benefit the universe?
I would generally pick GTA because it gives gaming a bad reputation, hogs magazine coverage and game makers are pressured into imitating it (badly)
If retrospectively erasing a game so it never existed maybe Shenmue
I love the series BUT...it caused big financial losses for Sega and worse..it popularised the QTE unleashing a plague which is infecting gaming ..spreading to series including Silent Hill and Ninja Gaiden....unless something is done maybe gaming as we know it is doomed....DOOMED....
