I checked the first couple of pages and didn't see anything on this, so my apologies if it's been brought up or there's an obvious solution.
All the text in codex entries and on load screens is tiny. I can barely read it usually. Is it supposed to be like that?
Text is too small

If you are playing on a non-HD tv then yes thats just how the text looks. If you are playing on an HD tv, than I don't know what the problem could be.

As much as I would like to help, I can't. I had the same problem with ME2 and I couldn't find any way to fix it. My gaming tv was old and was due to be replaced so I bought a mid-grade HDTV for a little over $200 dollars ($230, I think). It can only go up to 720p so its not the best but it's more than good enough for all but the most picky of gamers.

Unless you can figure out a way to increase the resolution on your non-HD tv, I think you're kinda screwed. It's a crappy answer, but honestly, you may want to head down the HD path anyway. I'm sure that as time goes on, the next-next generations of gaming systems will support higher resolutions...which could leave non-HD peeps in the dust (or stuck with a bad-looking image).

If the television you are currently playing on has the option to use component cables and not just the regular A/V cables or a coaxial cable, you may try that to improve the resolution which can clear up some text issues.

I had that issue too. My TV was like 7 years old and I could barely read anything. Then we recently got a new TV due to the convergence on the old one going out and the color being messed up. It's a 1080p HDTV and when I first played DAII I was like holy crap I can actually read the loading screens. So yeah that's probably the only way to go. But since the loading screens aren't really an integral part of the game, you could just stay the way you are if it doesn't bug you too much
