Honestly sometimes its hard to tell with twitter but this really does look like the setup for continuing the polls with Femshep even further

https://twitter.com/...842103238901760

@MassEffect:Did you vote during #BioWare's #FemShep contest? The results are in, and not everyone is pleased.

@ThePixelPerfect: But is the vote reeeaaallllly over?!?!?!? This is BioWare - there is always more to the story. ;)

Ok I know not everyone was happy with the choices and I think the contest has overshadowed something greater. The fact we were allowed to contribute to the way she looked in the first place.  For which im very grateful to of had the chance to cast a vote.   Even if my #2 isnt going to win.

But now you really need to stick to your guns and just go for what was intended and not drag this out into something that will turn really messy.   Blonde Shepard still had 40% of the vote. Its as close to a majority as you can get with a flawed poll of this nature.   But anything new you suggest will still get the same reactions.  You will forever be tweeking her design going forwards.  Some people will like Blonde, some brunette you simply cant please everyone and therefore cannot win.  Its time to make a stand of your intentions and not make a bad scenario even worse!

Please Bioware, for the sake of femshep fans who are glad she on the cover and has a trailer no matter how she looks, please dont continue this sham of a beauty contest just to milk marketting potential.  Its really casting a bad shadow on her and is starting to create a lasting legacy (in the media and on here) that no one wants.

I'm not a blonde-shep fan myself, but I agree that they should just use her since she was the closest thing to a clear winner. The controversy over the poll has just been silly.

This. Especially not on Facebook where every idiot can vote.
Vote should appear on Bioware sites only.

This is getting ridiculous. If the majority voted for the blonde, then that's how it's gonna be. No need to drag it any further.

Well if there are more votes I figure it'd be on minor things like "ok we got the model, now let us pick a hair color" and stuff like that...

Bad idea for several reasons, in my opinion. Let me say it with the words of George Carlin:
"Since whe do people know what they want???"

I think if anything, it will be Shep 5, same face/hairstyle, but maybe show a few different hair color or skin color options on her and allow us to choose from there.

I agree though that this whole thing has gone a bit off the sidelines. It made a huge ruckus and seems to have upset a lot of people for various reasons.

Easily sorted by letting us change hair and skincolor on the preset in the CC.

Yea, I am not saying that I want them to do that, just that I can't imagine them having an entirely brand new poll. And I don't think they are worried so much about options in the CC, they are more worried about determining her appearance for the trailer/cover.

I was agreeing with the OP, I think the whole thing turned ugly and should just be done and over with to keep from stirring up any more problems.

I don't care what FemShep looks like, I won't ever use the default one myself, I am just glad shes going to be a presence, and the poll/contest just kind of turned it into a negative experience it seems. They should have based the new one on what the old default looked like, and just updated/tweaked it a bit instead of trying to make an entirely new look determined by a majority vote.

(edited for a few typos and some clarity)

Nah it's cool no need to explain.
Altho the old preset will undoubtedly get re-hauled anyways as the rest of the CC will be, so in a way this is a pure gain.

But yes all the negativity during the poll and as a result of it's outcome just makes me want to facepalm hard. In the end there was a point to this, and most people missed it completely =/

Very true. They were trying to do something good, include the community in the decision and make it fun.

Ah well, hopefully it just blows over soon and we can just focus on new info and updates on ME3.

What is this "closest thing to a clear winner" gambit that I see making  its way around the boards at the moment. FemShep #5 WAS the clear winner. By a substantial margin. The rules of the contest were, most votes wins. Nowhere in the rules or elsewhere did BioWare suggest there would be no clear winner if no one captured a plurality of the votes.

You know, the political maneuvering around this thing has become worthy of US politics. That is a sad, SAD commentary -- And yes, I'm an American.

I did not pay attention to the Facebook poll (no account for varrious reasons), but the cited number in this thread said that she got ~40% of the vote. You are correct that this is a winner by the rules of the poll, however, a 'clear winner' would have been able to garnish an actual majority of votes (>50%), not just the plurality of votes (more votes than any 1 of the other 5 options) which it obtained.

The point is more than 50% of voters wanted something other than #5 as their first pick, so her victory is not as clearly decisive as it could have been.

I hope that has clarified things for you.

People just mad that the pretty white girl won, and they're jealous/resentful. Deal with it

If they're determined to do this then I hope it's over quickly, I want femShep's trailer already!

Possible idea, the model's been chosen so stick with it. Offer iris colour and hair colour switches. Possibly in a mock up CC window format so they can show off ME3's features a bit. It'll be a closer race than because people have more options but tough.

Hype it for one week, keep voting open for another week and then draw a line under it. Beauty pageant is done. The whiners are going to whine whatever.

If they're not going to put the blond one in, it's just racist! Time and time again we blonds get served off as dumb bimbo's. Back off with that stereotyping and just put her in the damn game.
