I'm a very offensive person, and want to boost my CON just high enough to wear whatever armor I want, then pump STR for the rest. However, the Patch has significantly reduced the secondary requirements for equipping armor, so I no longer know what to aim for with my CON. According to the Wiki, the Mantle of the Champion set requires 18 CON to equip. Is this the highest I need to go? Or is there something higher?

And yes, I realize CON is also used for Health; I'm currently ignoring that in favor of learning where to aim for armor.

you don't need any con. just prebuff.

By 'pre-buff', I'm assuming you mean to use items that give bonuses to CON or All Attributes so I can meet the CON requirement, equip what I want, then remove the items in question?

Yes. Same as when you need to meet willpower requirements with a blood mage.

Alright. Thanks for taking the time to help. I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but I've been out of the game for a while, and the patch changed a lot of stuff.

Too me prebuffing creates a headache. getting your secondary stat to 18 really isn't so tough.

Personally, I still grab 30 CON for hp as a Warrior as one is always toe to toe with the enemy; the min would be 20 for any class in DA2. IMO.

no class besides maybe bloodmage requires any constitution. so the 'minimum' would be whatever amount of constitution any +attributes equipement give rise to in most cases. This is particularly true for warriors because they have access to the greatest durability (higher starting health and their armour can give damage resistance and extra hp) as well as actually benefiting from low health (reaver blood frenzy).

I would say the optimal maximum amount of con for hawke would be around there too. It might be beneficial to give companions some con though as they tend to do silly things.

But yes, opinions will vary on this depending on how well you can manage threat/crowd control/kill things.

This. con is unnecessary and a waste of attribute points on any non-blood mages. Pre-buff instead.
