Oh, so revealing that cerberus is indoctrinated/gunning for shepard isn't a major spoiler? Or what about the prothean squadmate? I guess since they said it's been scrapped we're supposed to just believe them right? I could go on all day. Bottom line is, they're still letting spoiler slip. If you don't want major spoilers, then don't watch any videos. There's only so much stuff they can show that doesn't contain spoilers. Movie trailers show spoilers, but you still enjoy it right? Isn't the reason you went to go see the movie because you were interested in the story from the trailer? Or were you only interested in the combat and michael bay splosions? If they plan on showing combat gameplay videos from part 1 - part 50 all the way through the launch, are you really going to be excited with the same old combat you've seen over and over again? I think you're the one who needs to pay attention, and actually think about what's being discussed rather than jumping right into it. ;)

Oh, the old "He likes the combat, so he must be one of those gamers that can only enjoy explosions, action and guns, herp a derp" approach. How original.

No, I don't want to see the story in the trailers. That's why people complained about ME2's trailers. They spoiled literally 70% of the game. I want to play the story for myself.

Guess what. The class builds, weapon and armor customizations are also a part of the combat.

And they have already shown the majority of the RPG aspects of the game, when they showed that classes can evolve their powers more freely. All they really can show now is the economy and some more weapon mods and weapon and classes in action. They're also going to show more characters in the future. That can be done without spoiling the story. Like they did with ME2. People barely knew about most of the characters. Some weren't even shown until like a month before release, and even then people barely knew what part some characters had. Doing this between regular intervals will give people time to speculate about things without knowing the full part.

Showing locations and the Reapers and enemies aren't really spoilers, since people won't know in what context they're shown unless BioWare directly tells them it.

By the way. Cerberus turning out to be the bad guys again? Not that surprising.

I can live without ME1 pathetic excuse of an "inventory".

I'd rather take it as it was in ME2, where it manages itself, so I don't have to bother sorting crap out after every single fight, which is just tedious, boring and serves absolutley no other purpose than to waste my time with something I really shouldn't have to do.

That was one of ME2's biggest curses, not benefits. The entire system was too automated and virtually did all the work for you with barely any input, resulting in everything God-modded to the max with no trade-offs and no effort. I'd rather have a clumsy, awkward system that at least lets me play with my gear than a system that is so simple it runs itself.

ME1's system may have been, to quote you, "just tedious, boring and serves absolutley no other purpose than to waste my time with something I really shouldn't have to do" but ME2's system was just tedious, boring and because it did everything for me and didn't let me play around with it and truly customise it. I honestly to this day still don't get why people consider it a good system, instead of one of the most unsatisfying, linear and shallow systems out there. Not unless you really are somebody who is all, "herp derp, I just wants me combats!!1 Get out of my ways evil RPG stuffs!!1" Especially when there are plenty of pure class shooters out there with far better systems.

Whoopity ****ing doo, If I wanted Earthbound's inventory, I'd play that game. This is 2011, not 1994. I shouldn't have to buy 12 copies of the SAME ****ING GUN IN THE 22ND CENTURY

Don't care what ME2 did wrong.

ME3 is what matters, and I like what I've seen so far.

And that includes the RPG parts.

Oh boy this again.

For every time someone gushes over ME1s inventory system for having "GREAT options"  I laugh because I find this same exact armor right after Horizon and never find anything better.
I find so much crap laying around in ME1 that I don't even have to think about it.

Who said anything about that? I'm just talking about researching, upgrading, modding, etc. I actually think the weapon replication system makes sense, even if it did result in the unfortunate factor that every weapon is in the same damn place in every playthrough and there's no randomness or surprise in the game where items are concerned at all.

And yes, it's 2011 and not 1994. So we shouldn't have an items system that's no more deep and complex than DOOM or Quake either, and doesn't require an iota of thought to get the best results. Lowering the standards and depth of gameplay and a game's systems to such a degree isn't evolution and a step forward at all. Streamlining is not the same as oversimplicity. Again, it's ironic that there are more pure class shooters and action games with deeper systems than a supposed RPG, and that while action and shooter titles are actually getting deeper, BioWare's RPGs are getting shallower.

For every time someone automatically thinks that criticising ME2's inventory system for having "NO options" is saying that ME1's inventory is gold and the only way to go I laugh, because they are clearly narrow-minded and think everything is black and white, and that there are only two options: the ME1 way and the ME2 way. And putting down the ME2 way MUST mean that the ME1 way is the best RPG inventory system ever and must be replicated again perfectly for ME3!

Seriously... this practice is getting tedious. And you wonder why I question the audience BioWare is starting to bring in when this repeatedly happens? <_<

Okay just had a look at the trailer and I am having a hard time working out why anyone would want to play as a soldier now. Between the Sentinel and Engineer gameplay I'm finding it very hard to be swayed to play as a soldier.

If an Engineer can use a Revenant and a nameless sniper rifle now on top of a heavy pistol and sub-machine gun and have access to all his/her engineering powers what on earth is the point of playing as a soldier? Even if the soldier can deal a lot of damage the engineer can tear down defences and also create a drone which can distract an opponent(s) and deal a fair bit of damage with the Revenant (If the Revenant is the same as Mass Effect 2) or can someone elighten me about something awesome the soldier has that I may have missed?

THen what is it your complaing about? It sounds like your getting what you want in ME3 your post sure sounds like it was ME1s inventory is so much better than ME2s
Some people honestly believe that having a crappy inventory is better than none.  And i don't get that because if you can't do it right than why do it at all?

Not knowing where certain items are would just create artificial lengthening as the player is scouring the galaxy for one good piece of armor or weapon. Especially if they have different stats like in ME1 and some items are weaker than the other. I find that to be both annoying and pointless.

If ME3's store system is cycling through certain items within a reasonable time frame and/or requires a certain level before some items can be purchased and used, I'm good.

Uh...hm...grenades...?

As far as I know, the Soldier is at the moment the only class that can use them. Maybe having all ammo powers at will is appealing to some. And those ammo powers are affecting the Concussion Shot power. Cryo Ammo, for example, makes CS behave a little like Cryo Blast.

I dunno. Each to their own, I'd guess.

Grenades? I am pretty sure I saw the Engineer throwing one at the Atlas mech at the end of the trailer. Ammo powers? I am pretty sure squad mates will have the ones we need. The Concussion shots change based on ammo powers? Hmm that is interesting. But that sounds like it is a fair bit of mucking around, but it does sound fun. :P

I guess we'll have to wait till the class videos. :)

By the way the Soldier class is the one I play the most and the other classes are looking more fun at the moment. :P

Yeah, it would actually be awesome if you can have inferno ammo on one weapon - have cryo ammo on another weapon. When you use concussive shot w/ the weapon with inferno - the guy blasts into flames. Then you switch to your weapon with cryo ammo and use concussive shot to freeze blast him.

I heard ammo powers were also going to effect other abilities...I just forgot what they were lol. I think it was something like grenades or...shoot...I forgot.

But I do feel like there should be more to a soldier. The other classes are getting...almost completely revamped it feels like. All we get are...grenades and ammo powers effecting concussive shot? Weak. Lol. But who knows, maybe there will be more to the soldier in videos to come.

Hopefully they show different squadmates other than Garrus and Liara. Even though it did make me feel warm seeing Liara get crushed by an atlas. (No hate.)

Oh yeah.....and let's see Shepard driving that Atlas!

Seriously now

was it so ****ing hard to market the damn game like it was done in the keynote ALL ALONG without silverman going on his bull**** rants?

Seriously that was done perfectly. Draw in the casuals with the action and flashy combat while reassuring the hardcore fans about the RPG aspects of the game.

Adrenaline Rush = Matrix "bullet-time" goodness? B)

Joking aside, we still haven't really seen the full extent of the Soldier or even the other classes yet, so it's always possible that the Soldier class will get additional bonuses that the other classes won't have that we don't know of yet.
