Oh God... I just came home from gamescom (it's 12:40, so I was there for... 2 hours?) and all I did was run straight to the ME3 booth, used my fast pass, still waited 20 minutes to play, had to watch a 5 minute crap video, spliced together from the official trailer, ME1 and 2 gameplay footage and just stuff (I think it was supposed to be EDI talking about the different races and stuff) and was finally able to play 10 or 15 minutes till they kicked us out. there were 15 or 20 people in my group and NOBODY finished the Demo, not a single person. If you make the mistake and distribute your points in Powers, be aware that you'll not even be able to finish the first fight.
At first I thought "Thank god there are PCs!" but... yeah the sensitivity was maxed out like crazy, no option to change that and I couldn't even hit someone right in front of me, aiming was simply not possible.
I played as an Engineer (same demo like before) and the sentry gun was fun. I was a bit disappointed that enemies didn't even seem to care for the sentry, but that's the way it goes.
I checked which setting was set and it was normal and although I wasn't able to aim, ran around like a moron, rolled from cover to cover the whole time by accident (remember ME1 and 2? in 1 you had to go into cover, in 2 you had to use space to go into cover and to leave it and in 3 you have to press space to go into cover, but have to go out of cover and not use space because space is used to roll around the floor and clean it) I never died and didn't even come close to it.
WAY too easy at this point.
They even gave out Posters and the "awesome" omniblade crap thingy and they didn't even bother to make a new bunch for europe, because there is still the US release date printed on them.
Oh and I could never go on without mentioning the 1,6 meters wimp they put into a styrofoam N7 armor with a styrofoam weapon and was supposed to be Shepard... I'm not kidding you, I'm not an intimidating person, in fact I think 9 out of 10 people in this forum could knock me out with a single punch, but I will never be drunk enough to NOT be able to punch that wimp out with a single blow.
So people were able to take a picture with that bad joke of a shepard look-alike and there were enough who even did it.
So after that disappointment I left immediately, it was WAY too crowded, it took me more than half an hour simply to get to the ME3 booth, they didn't give people enough time to play through the demo and I didn't see a single thing I haven't seen months before... I wasted 6 euro.

So to everyone considering to go there JUST for ME3: Don't do it, not even with a fast pass. And if you don't have a fast pass and want to take a look at more than just one game: Go at least for 2 days. It's so crowded and you'll have to wait hours in line just to take a glimpse at stuff (remember it's germany: they aren't allowed to show stuff that is rated 16 or older, so you have to wait to even take a look at stuff because you have to get into small rooms to see the games.).
Oh and don't wear a jacket or something like that, a Shirt is enough, it's so crowded that you seriously risk getting a heatstroke in the halls.

My final thoughts: NEVER again. It's just not for me and Bioware/ME3/EA treats europe like crap so there is no value in going there to see games from them. I'm not a fan of huge crowds and after I've seen that I know why.

So can you sum up what was wrong with the demo in a single coherent phrase?

I got that the mouse sensitivity was too high, you got kicked out before you finished, the sentry gun didn't work, you weren't able to aim, and game demo was too easy for you.

Did I get it right?

Watching the video clip of the demo from the comfort of my computer chair in a room of adequate temperature without waiting in line or dealing with crowds.. it's brilliant, it really is.

Now, I wouldn't mind hearing more insight from other players who got to play the demo. Some objective analysis would be appreciated.

Oh yeah, sure... 'objective' , haha.

You amuse me.

The guy posted his opinion. It's valid, whether you want it or not and what he said may as well be truer than the recycled PR garbage we've been feeded since the announcement. -Basically- you have to expect things can't turn out perfect, but sitting there with your head buried in the sand and pretending flaws don't exist, and even ATTACKING the people that point them out, is completely immature and disrespectful of Bioware. We have the duty as customers at pointing out the things that don't work out or are simply bad.

Or what, are you so delusional that you think Bioware cannot possibly come out with something short of perfect?

Yeah... 'objective'.

I just would rather hear about the demo instead of a long complaint about how tough going to a convention is. He could give us more information and less whinging.

I was not at all attacking him for his opinion of the demo, in fact I'd like to hear MORE about it. So before you jump to conclusions (and BickDutt is not a clever name btw), how about you actually read what tone the guy wrote his opinion in.

Except it isn't a critique of the demo. He's picking somebody to blame because he's angry at simply not having enough time to play it.

I was there yesterday for the producer presentation that didn't have any presentation at all (WTF), just those two boring interviews. VERY disappointing!
I waited an hour for the presentation. We were pretty tired and glad to finally just sit down for a while.
Watched the SSX live demo. Nice. Probably going to buy the game. Looks like a fun title.
They showed the two known ME3 trailers as fillers before the DA/ME3 "presentation".
As you all know yourselves now, the interviews sucked. Dodged the (stupid) questions again, no new information. Nothing.
But hey, I got two crappy omni blade things, yay..... >.<

Didn't bother to wait in line for a personal ME3 preview experience. You could see the screens from the outside. And all I saw was Mordin and the krogan princess again. Great....
I wouldn't wait 4 hours (on Thursday, mind you) for this. But you guys go ahead.

@CaolIla:
I played the demo and found it worked quite will. I also couldn't finish it, but I had no problems with hitting anything and got through the first two fights well since they were made extra easy for the demo. I only missed the Atlas mech (which I had the opportunity to rectify later). I also played as an Engineer and spent the time distributing points. It was something of a rush, yes, but that's OK with me, there were so many others waiting behind me.

Ok, the sentry did work. It was fun like I said and the only thing that was off with the sentries was that enemies seemed to ignore them. They didn't react to it or tried to shoot it. Which should be possible since I remember maxing one tree out and I'm pretty sure one bonus was 30% health and I think 30% damage.
Since I was happy to hit something and couldn't aim at anything specific (like the head) it took a while to take enemies down, so I didn't have the feeling that weapons are more effective. But that wasn't a problem, I barely used cover and still never even got into the redzone of health even if I faced 4 enemies at once.
One time when 3 enemies were still around, I waited in cover to take a look at the layed out key mappings in forms of cardboards to see if there was a special key for the omniblade, I didn't find it so I simply ran to an enemy in the open, and used melee to punch him  to death in a three hit combo.
I also used incinerate a lot and I took a lot of upgrades. It was shown as a level 5 power in the overview. It still didn't kill unprotected enemies in a single blow, but I don't know if that's because I went for area and not the other tree, that might have been a damage boost.
I also missed some Incineration blasts even though they were in the autoaim when I fired and they didn't move to cover. They just moved a lot around so I think they changed something with the tracking of at least that particular power.
And I think I will have to get used to the new cover system. For me - like I pointed out before - it was extremely irritating since I'm so used to the ME2 system. And since they mashed together the ME1 and 2 controls to get it to work (space for cover, moving back to leave the cover and space again once you are in cover to roll around), it's something "new".
One thing I also liked just in the beginning of the demo was that there where actually some salarians around, shooting at enemies as far as I saw it. Usually anyone shooting a weapon is either a squadmate or an enemy (at least in ME2) so I nearly shot them, but I realised soon enough that they weren't enemies so I can't say if you CAN shoot them since I didn't try.

One thing in the end: every time I used cover, was to search for keys on the keyboard and mouse, both mouse and keyboard were some Razer products, the mouse was a Naga, i read the name when I searched for a button to decrease the DPI to get some chance to get control over the mouse, which didn't work since it was already at "1" and I assumed that should be the lowest setting, since the other settings were 2 and 3.
The keyboard was some kind of gaming keyboard with - like the naga - a lot of extra buttons. The layout was not standard so everytime I took my hands of the keyboard I had to actually take a look at it to search for the wasd keys. There was an extra row of buttons on the left side of the keyboard so everything else was shifted to the right one row. I'm  a creature of habit, so something like that always confuses me: the keyboard layout, cover system and the mouse sensitivity.

That was something I was watching in early E3 videos with much interest.

Beyond the scripted NPC death, other characters outside enemies and squad didn't do anything in Me1 and Me2.

The potential of this is huge. Large scale conflict in Reaper zones etc.  Out of everything I've seen with the advancement of combat, this is definitely the one I'm most interested in.

I pointed out several things about the demo, I sure as hell crammed the post together as a review of my whole experience today, and I wasn't that pleased like everyone noticed but this is the ME3 at gamescom thread, so I think that's a very appropriate place to point out MY view.
And why most of the last posters expect posts simply based on the demo and not the ME3 presentation at gamescom as a whole is beyond me...
I made a post above to go into more detail on the demo, but you have to remember that I had 15 minutes max to play the demo, so I have to assume a lot, since I didn't have that much time to simply look around and test things out.

I also like the idea that you are not alone on the battlefield but I just saw those salarians in the beginning, I think during the first encounter with enemies. I THINK they shot at enemies, but I wouldn't bet on it, I might be wrong.
Just doing your mission while others are holding their lines could be a great way to immerse the player even more into the conflict and I hope they take advantage of it.

And the Commander Shepard song rules.

Indeed it does. Should really be included in the soundtrack or something.
