though, the multiplayer will be the scapegoat every fan will use to lay the blame on every minor fault of the singleplayer.

"i dont like the way tali's face ended up looking, if it wasnt for multiplayer it would have been better looking"

Hudson already confirmed - twice - that there wouldn't be any multiplayer, and I find it funny that they would have suddenly changed their minds.

One might also think for an annoucnement of this magnitude, we might send Casey to Cologne to make it instead of him staying here in Edmonton to work on the game.

Still, I love watching the responses these rumors generate. I shall have my "I told you so" ready for later.

Who had that popcorn?

Not necessarily. Casey never explicitly said "no" to the multiplayer rumors. For whatever reason, people here think that dodging the question as expertly as he does constitutes a "no". My assumption is that he didn't want to go because he feared for his life from the anti-multiplayer extremists, if it is what you're announcing. Some fanboys do get violent. :P

Yeah they might get violent but its a crapshoot who panics more People here on the forums or Wall Street investors..the abilites of both to spook at a blink of an eye is actually quite humorous.  Take it easy folks and head back to your houses becasue I believe their is nothing to see here

I'm very annoyed with all the hate for multiplayer. I think it's a beautiful idea, they had the game set for november, so they post-poned it for SOMETHING. IE: Kinect/Multiplayer. If it's going to be a campaign thing, Id like to have a friend join my game and end up playing as Garrus or something. If not, and its either co-op exclusive missions or some kind of hoard mode, i'll enjoy it even more. If they decide to drop the multiplayer, thats fine too.

Either of those two would be fine since co-op exclusive missions is the only way I can see the current system working for it without having to overall the entire game format.

People are SERIOUSLY flipping out. I can't believe how bad this argument is. As, in I don't believe it. It's Bioware's game, they can do what they want. If you're going to cancel your preorder because of one little thing that doesn't even have anything to do with singleplayer, than it's your loss. Bioware isn't going bankrupt because a few people decide to whine enough that they aren't going to buy a game. Seriously, people. It's not going to take away from singleplayer if these rumors are true. It's your choice to play it or not, so please, i'm tired of hearing people complain about everything. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

What's the big deal the multiplayer nayayers have had thier heads buried in the sand for 3 months now we can finally shut them up about it.

Multiplayer's coming, it was coming 3 months ago, deal with it.

As long as it doesn't impact my single-player play, whatever.

If there is multi-player, I wonder if it will be gameplay only or if they will implement a similar dialogue system to SWTOR.

Nor does she make out nearly as much as people like to swear.

Coincidence, I think not!

I would say I am no advocate of multiplayer, but it would be advisable not the end of Mass Effect 3 to bring to an incredibly wonderful and beautiful statements, and submit it to the MP as DLC or better yet, just when the new parts of Mass Effect while integrating an MP. I understand that the workforce already Bioware gets bigger, but the danger would be too large, the community then the blame on the MP, if the single player would not be so good but what I have built but rather a faith that Bioware COOP mode which would then feature X Secret :-)

Should have done that 3 months ago then, that's when anyone with half a brain cell knew 99.99% that there was going to be a multiplayer.

What did ya think they needed 4 more months AFTER making an OFFICIAL November release date to work on Jacks hairdo?

Until someone flatly says, "There will be NO multiplayer in ME3," it will remain a confirmed feature. :P

I seriously doubt BW will allow MP to compromise the SP experience and whether that means there will be no MP or a small tacked on MP mode remains to be seen. It's already confirmed that ME3 will be about the same length as ME2, w/ more replayability.  (http://twitter.com/#...623121937838080).  Personally, if there is a MP mode, I hope it's on a separate disc.  Then I can have a decorative coaster to use while I play the game. :)

Ya and I highly doubt Bioware will allow Dragon Age 2 to be a recycled peice of garbage that EA rushed out for a quick money grab from loyal fans......Oh wait......

Ya more replayability kinda like what Dead Space 2 was shouting, turns out the replayability was the 2 hours anyone actually spent playing the multiplayer.....

Well I certainly don't care if there is MP. Assassion's Creed: Brotherhood added MP and I still bought it.

The problem with AC:Brotherhood, was it spent so much time marketing the multiplayer aspect, it seemed to knock a lot of day dot purchases off the line as people didn't realise it still had a fantastic single player campagin.

If ME3 follows something along those lines without the marketing mishap, it will be fantastic. I've spent countless hours in AC:Brotherhood, and the single player is so, totally completely seperate from the multiplayer, you just forget about it. But I've got mates who live for the multiplayer and couldn't give a hoot about the single player.  If they're totally seperate, awesome.

To those who say it would limit the time spent on ME3 single player, well, lets be honest, ME2 didn't have multiplayer and seemed to have a lot more cut corners and lacked a good bit of polish throughout and feels in parts rushed. So the two are not mutually exclusive, it is possible to have high standards when both elements are included.

That's one of the most irrational arguments ever. No one is forcing you into playing a multi-player game, and the option to do so can safely be ignored. Or do you expect some BioWare enforcer to show up at your domicile to beat you into submission if you elect not to play multi-player? I don't get how someone can complain about something that's totally optional and has nothing to do with the single-player game.

But there have been plenty of good arguments about MP.  Well, for certain definitions of "good".

Likewise, and I loved Brotherhood. However, I've logged into the MP a grand total of twice. And while the gameplay/environments were terrific, I found Ezio's plot much less engaging this time around.

Time spent developing multiplayer which I will never play could be spent on other things. Ex: More Leonardo War Machine missions, which were terrific.
