No one has ever come out and directly stated there would be no multiplayer. They always play the "it's a rumor" or "we have no plans for multiplayer at this time" card. They would close the door but leave it unlocked.

As MG said, of all the times they have answered this question, the developers never flat-out denied multiplayer by explicitly stating that it isn't there. In a nutshell, their answers are usually one of the three:

a) "We are focusing on the single player experience."
"We have considered it but haven't figured out a way to implement it."
c) "We do not comment on rumors."

Basically, they dodged the question every single time it has been raised. It's like they're waiting for the "right time" to make an official statement and put an end to all this.

I don't mind coop mode, but normal MP mode just wouldnt work.

Even if they add in a multiplayer mode; what does it matter?

If you don't want to play Multiplayer Mass Effect, then DON'T CLICK ON THE MULTIPLAYER OPTION.

Edit: No its not!  And stop editing my posts! I didnt do anything wrong! EA announced a press conference about ME3 Multiplayer!

Most ignorant post ever... They confirmed there is NO MULTIPLAYER for
ME3, so you believe a post in GERMAN, not English or French which could
come from Bioware, Bioware didnt post it or mention it for Gamescon and
yet you believe a spam filled site?! As much as Id love co-op or
mulltiplayer for ME3, your beating a dead horse here...

I'd laugh so hard if it turned out that this "multiplayer" is a separate stand alone game set on Pinnacle Station ala section 8 prejudice and has nothing to do with ME3 proper
