So there was no multiplayer at todays press conference.
I doubt we'll see multiplayer for ME3, at gamescom at least.

True but something as large as multiplayer brought to a single player franchise seems like something to highlight at a press conference like this.

Gamescom lasts until the 21st, so there' still plenty left. Gamescom hasn't even officially began yet.

It isn't supposed to officially begin until the 17th.

True, but EA makes all announcements during the conference. The other days will be demos and talking to the staff.

And so, at least this iteration of the rumor, that hinged on a Gamescom reveal(and if anyone honestly believes an announcement as big for this franchise as multiplayer wouldn't be in the keynote, you're pretty much deluding yourself) is dying not with a roar, but with a whimper.

All of this could easily be quelled if BiowarEA just came out and said: Mass Effect 3 is a single player ONLY title. There is no multiplayer for Mass Effect 3 and there will be no multiplayer for Mass Effect 3.

Something don't smell right with this whole fiasco and it's leaving a bad impression.

EA's official stance is "We do not comment on rumors or speculation." It wouldn't matter if the rumor was as ridiculous as Palaven being covered in bubble wrap an all Turians there wearing nothing but pink and yellow long johns, they could not give official confirmation or denial of such things. We got as close as we ever would with "they're just that, rumors."

But its hardly even started, theres still two days left and ME has over an hour of time on friday to show off new stuff.   Today was just a teaser because they only had very limited air time

Must admit I'm a bit disappointed we didn't find out anything new at all. Hopefully we'll hear more in the next couple of days.
