Didn't mention it. It was pretty short, just talked about combat and customizable weapons.

There wasn't anything mentioned regarding multiplayer, they showed off a short teaser featuring a new location and some combat gameplay.

So the rumors can finally be put to rest.
I bet there will be people who say, that ME3 had multiplayer 30 years after release. Even if and when it does not have one. Somehow they mess up these rumors and actual game and say that they are 100% sure, becouse they played it online with friends.

They didn't mention anything, it was just a very short cinematic video of Shepard and two squad mates (liara and garrus I think it was, my short term memory is ****** poor) fighting some cerberus troops and one of those big atlas things in some ruined ally.

Now I know why Bioware never denied multiplayer.
They wanted for fans to be exited after finding out nothing new at GamesCom.
But its hardly even started, theres still two days left and ME has over an hour of time on friday to show off new stuff. Today was just a teaser because they only had very limited air time
Is it really hard to say "Oh we have multiplayer. By, bye.".

You can keep bashing your brains against the wall if you want, but really, until you actually see a picture, you really shouldn't put so much stock into every rumor you hear.

No it wouldn't have been. If you consider the gravity this announcement would hold to Mass Effect fans both on the forums and off, it's incredibly unlikely they'd decide to wait until Friday, in lieu of their keynote spot, but the detractors won't stop claiming that a baseless internet rumor must be true because Mass Effect 3 will have Kinect and that was rumored(because we found a picture of the boxart on EA servers, with Kinect marking) or that Arrival existed and we knew about that.(because we found the achievements on the PS3 servers, that had to have been submitted by EA) Thing is, people on these forums fail to draw the distinction between a random internet rumor and news waiting for announcement. For example, we all knew Mass Effect 3 was going to be announced, but we didn't know when until the VGAs were approaching.Mesina2 wrote...

The source on the VGAs announcement was also more of a "waiting for confirmation" because we saw a soldier with the Incisor, and we knew it was a game from Bioware because Bioware employees said so. This rumor on the other hand was unsourced and completely unfounded with any kind of backing, as it has been since it first popped up, back when ME2 was headed for launch.

I'd like to point something out.
People try to claim that the Delay of actually... about 3 months from the origional release date... Is for things like Kinect playability. (something EA has had their hands on for quite a while now and they could plan for in some way from the beginning even if it took them a while to decide just how and how much they wanted to use the Kinect considering upcoming sports games have already said a couple things about possibly using it.)
Go back and look when the delay happened. It happened just after some of the fallout about DA2 and the blandness of some of the setting and all kinds of things like that.
Bioware being one of the few companies that has generally been good enough to us to go "We made a mistake and we will fix it" could have easily decided to take 3 more months just to ensure they didn't have at least a few of the things we complained about in DA2 and make sure they make up for it in their next game. Because you know... They've stayed around this long and made as many good games as they have for exactly this reason.

Or they reveal it at the last minute so they can quietly use the backdoor to run to their private jetNaltair wrote...
This is a feature you want people interested in on day 1 of the event. Not on Friday... you want people to try out the multiplayer not just talk it about on nearly the last day or whenever. If they didn't say it now, then I doubt it existed at least for Gamescom.

Cue global ****storm. If it's true and not based on rumors.
I wouldnt say so much a ****storm as Id say "Well at least I wont be playing any future ME games beyond ME3" if this is indeed true. *Shrugs* Oh well, their game, their rules. Just hope they're not surprised when some folks inevitablly start flame threads on here about how Multiplayer killed the game for them. I wont be among them, however the prospect of Multiplayer being in ME3 does leave a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.
Edit: Nvm, seems I was a little behind. Regardless, Im glad there isnt any MP.

I'd personally love to see it, just ouside of the main trilogy. In some shady back alley where I can get my fix without the prying eyes of anyone who has ever used that "other" word with a past of being offensive dating back to the salem witch trials for homosexuals as a derrogatory term even knowing it exists.(note: not gay)didymos1120 wrote...

I have similar sentiments. I'd love to see a ME mmo, or a game just like fire fall (www.firefallthegame.com) set in the mass effect universe.
Since BW is big on mixing genres and not making rpgs, or shooters, but action hybrids I think the fire fall route would be sweet. But if they don't go that route.. something like borderlands would be awesome too. Again, another blend of genres, fps and rpg. BW has many options for this universe. But fire fall and borderlands are my hopes.
