Cerberus Centurion:
Cerberus Centurions are frontline tacticians that fight alongside their soldiers. These squadron leaders carry out high-level instructions laid out by the Illusive Man. How the Illusive Man recruited and trained such a large number of top-line battlefield commanders is a worrying mystery. Cerberus, once comprised of small, covert cells of agents, is now a burgeoning and unconcealed threat to the galaxy. In the face of the immediate Reaper threat, Alliance Intelligence has scuttled their attempts to infiltrate Cerberus to find out how the Illusive Man managed to quickly swell his organization’s ranks. The only useful intel gathered on the Centurions are their armaments. Each Centurion carries a modified M-96 Mattock that launches smoke grenades to blind their targets, making their enemies vulnerable to vicious crossfire they can no longer see.

It remains a mystery for the Alliance, but you and I know better. What we both know is that he surely did not set up Human Resources department and Recruitment centres. TIM finally put to use the Collector technology in the same fashion as Okeer did on Korlus and created new army of clones. And just as Okeer, he had to base the clones on good genetic data. We do not have to look very far to find suitable candidate - Shepard. Fortunately, he had some residue DNA samples from Lazarus Project. He then used memory imprinting to make them loyal to the Cerberus cause and what we have now is a fresh supply of battlefield commanders. Of course, they are not like the real thing, but are still dangerous and disturbing to fight.

You know, the term "commander" doesn't really have to refer to the rank Commander.

I'm not convinced Cerberus used Shepard's DNA per se, but the cloning theory seems logical. Good post.

Thing is, what if Cerberus mooks are male when playing female Shep? Then it just doesn't make sense. Granted, we haven't seen a femShep play yet, but that's a huge amount of resources and is rather obvious. I'd rather they just cloned Kai Leng or someone like that.

I've been speculating this ever since we first saw Cerberus troopers. Ofc, that begs the question why Cerberus Phantoms are (supposedly) all female.

I wouldn't mind seeing this, especially if the original Shepard can become this universe's Paxton Fettel with the help of some good old indoctrination.

So basically Shepard is Jango Fett? I'd be cool with that.

I certainly hope they aren't Shepard clones. That's gonna be hard to believe when I gun them down with ease.

It could be possibly they just alter Shepard clones genders after all Miranda is a female clone of her father.

You know, this is one of the very few times I've seen a theory presented on here which fills in certain unknowns so well that I'm almost immediately inclined to accept it as truth.

what if your shepard as a female? So far all those Cerberus troopers look and sound male

and if they are females what happens when ALL of them get their period at the SAME time?

Big Boss? No... it can't be!

Solid Shepard reporting for duty.

If Cerberus can make a clone army, I'm sure they can also handle making their clones sterile or similar as well.

I rather doubt TIM has an army of Shepard clones, although the fact they got this huge military force out of nowhere makes me really wish I could keep working for them in ME3.

Expect people to want to romance their clones in 3... 2... 1...

As I said before, I don't see what the big point to it would be. I'll buy that they're clones, but clones of Shepard? What would that really accomplish?

If they clone only Centurions, not all Cerberus mooks would have to be same gendered. Others could be cloned from whoever else. This way it would not be so weird why they are all female.

And Kai Leng isn't so "special" as I am. TIM could rather clone himself.

Okeer cloned great Krogan warlords, TIM might clone Hitler or Churchill but fighting fat or moustached people will not cut it. We need more oomph.

Cloning, in my opinion, probably costs more then recruiting people and training them. I figure that these are just normal guys that were indoctrinated.

Indoctrination creates a "collective" intelligence. If there is one good soldier, they are all good soldiers.

I wonder if the Illusive Man found a way to indoctrinate people? Not as easily as the Reapers, but enough to imprint tactics in soldiers in a matter of hours, not years.

Itd be some **** if TIM was reaperfied enough to assume control of said Centurions and if they did clone Shepard, it'd be nigh impossible to kill one of the Centurions, let alone how many ever exist.. Shepard has killed how many people? The only time he dies (unless you are lazy and get him killed in SM) is when a ginormous blast takes his ship from him. Even then, it's all Joker's fault for being Mr Brittle/I can't walk to an escape pod, but I can crawl throughout Normandy to save it the second go round..
