A question I've been wondering about for a few minutes now.

It's reasonable to expect that Maleshep is, as men constantly produce more sperm, and so if he was put back together just the way he was, there's a logical conclusion there. However, women get all the eggs they'll ever have at birth, and assuming the eggs are as dead as Femshep is... Cerberus would need to clone thousands more and insert them into her. Would they bother doing this?

This is the sort of thing that she'd probably have some idea about after a month or so, even if no one told her, so it seems slightly unfortunate that it was never brought up. I'd be curious, even if it's not a possiblity my own Femshep would explore.

That's a good point. I'd say she is most likely not fertile.

This thread again? XD

Anyway, I don't think she is. Cerberus wasn't even finished working on her when she woke up, why would they have wasted time and credits on something that isn't needed for saving the galaxy and not on more important things first?

Again? I haven't been on the forums for months; sorry if I made a duplicate topic.

Cerberus was pretty much finished working on Shepard. Remember, before the attack they woke him/her up as a test, only to see it partially fail because of.. something (I'm no medic) causing Shepard's heart rate to climb to dangerous levels, and they had to dose him/her off again. So maybe he/she wasn't ready for being woken up yet but Cerberus were surely done reconstructing Shepard for them to do that test...

Anyway to answer the question: I don't think FemShep is still fertile but a little Salarian magic (science) can probably fix that right up.

I think Shepard waking up was an accident. Althrough I agree that Shepard was pretty much done when he woke up. Only the more cosmetic things like hiding ths scars and cybernetic eye-implants remained.

Wonders of Science!   Especially Science Fiction Science!

She can be if the plot or your imagination allows it.  Im fairly sure it quite easy to come up with a plot point.  She regained her fertility during Lazarus, or she has an operation later on when she decided to settle down.

I dont think this is something the Devs will ever touch on so its however you want it to be.   Personally I would say isnt.  But as said Science in 2185 has all the answers

I don't see how she would know.  Most infertile women today don't know until they actually try to have a baby.  Even if Femshep's eggs are dead, she'd probably still have a normal-seeming period (anovulatory cycles).  Heck, just because the eggs are "dead" or no longer capable of being fertilized doesn't mean they won't still be released normally by Femshep's hormones.  But then, she may not have a period anyway.  Even today we have birth control that allows women to only get a period every 3 months or so.  I would imagine that in a few hundred years, a female space marine on active duty will probably be able to get a shot or something that causes her to have a period even less frequently.

And I have no idea if she'd be infertile anyway.  Yes, the eggs were dead along with FemShep, but well... FemShep herself came back easily enough.  ::shrug::  Nothing would surprise me, but I doubt the game will ever address it.

Oh god I can't believe I am even talking about this.

I like to think that she's incapable of having children after dying.

True, but I don't think that she'd have any eggs left in her body at all, from one circumstance or another. I did forget about the birth control thing, though.

Weren't the dead blood cells revived by that stuff Cerberus injected Shepard with in the opening sequence? Why shouldn't her eggs be revived too?

I would like to imagine that all serving soldiers in 2185 have either sperm/eggs in cold storage somewhere in case of serious injury/radiation poisoning while on service. So even if Cerberus hasn't put all the bits back together properly the possibility is still there.

This might not be entirely true anymore. Scientists found in adult mice that they have stem cells in the ovaries that generate eggs throughout their lives. They haven't found these cells in humans yet, but there is evidence that they exist. Perhaps if this does exist in humans, then the cells might resupply the ovaries with eggs. I'm sure it's no more far fetched than rebuilding more complex organs, like the whole nervous system.

He "misplaced" the data and needs to find out again.

Well, even if she is she won't get any children if she keeps going after aliens.

And after all, saving the galaxy is ftoo much important mission to think about children

I vote yes just because the goal was bring her back the way she was and the body works in concert so if you don't bring everything back just right-- mess up the endocrine system, hormones out of whack and you get Post menopausal hormonal crazed Shepard. Not a good leader for the suicide mission. I don't think they would risk it especially since mood, disposition a lot of personality is related to proper hormones since ovulation involves a lot of hormones they might decide not to tamper with this stuff and just bring her back the way she was.

With the likes of Miranda and Grunt already in existence, I'm sure Shepard can have whatever baby there is.

It's an interesting topic - and I see no reason why she shouldn't be.
Cerberus did say she was brought back EXACTLY as she was before, but, then again, Cerberus says a lot of things. I don't see why they would make her infertile... I dunno.

So long as she doesn't end up pregnant I really couldn't care less, to be honest.
