would this work on the Insane Difficulty, because It seems like you die too fast to go out in the middle of the combat zone, just so you can stun people.

it works when you reach higher levels . Up to Horizon it's impossible for me to tank because i have no upgrades yet. I bow to anyone who can manage it at those low levels.
In fact i start tanking at level 20 + or - .Then i have tech armor and passive maxed out , tungsten ammo as bonus power and other powers at decent ranks ... plus have picked up AR on the DCS .
That or i use stasis as bonus and benefit from grunt's , zaeed's or jacob's squad ammo .

until your passives and armors are maxed, stay back a bit.

I'm doing my Insanity Sentinel now, but I'm not playing assault-style. It's my first time with this class and I really didn't care for it too much in the early game. The pacing was very slow, but doable (I was probably overcautious). I think it started to speed up around level 14 or 15.

Now I'm having a lot of fun. I just finished the DCS and chose the GPS for my bonus weapon (also new to me). I've also used Jacob more than any other previous playthrough. His Squad Incendiary and Pull were great for the early parts of the game.

My build is similar to the TC:

- Throw lv.2
- Heavy Warp
- Assault  Armor
- Guardian (for quicker combos)

- Overload lv.1 (I respec'd once I aquired the GPS)
- BP: I was using Stasis for a 1-point-wonder while I focused on other powers, but now I'm trying out AP ammo. Flashbang would be good if I had better aim with it.

You can use walls to bounce it :)

Once you hit the higher levels, you won't even need to fire a shot - just the Armor is enough - provided that's the way you want to play the game.

In the early game the first thing you want to max out is your Tech Armor. After that I would say probably Warp or your passive. Also if you have Kasumi's dlc do that ASAP to get the Locust, it's like a mini AR! As other people have already stated once you have your passive, Tech Armor, and have your Tech Upgrades you are nearly invincible. If you're maneuvering around the area well enough by the time your Tech Armor goes down you should be able to apply it again. Also if you use Tech Armor when it's at, I think, level 3 or higher you reset your teammates cooldowns so that's pretty great :D

Tech Armor first, then passive, then whatever you want - that's the standard way.

No matter what new Sentinels will always be fairly weak in the early game. The class really depends on evolved skill effects to do well. However, once you have them, its arguably the strongest class in the game.
