About time, I get annoyed at the ingrateful crap some some so called "fans" spew at them. These guys work their asses off making games we love. Sure their games aren't perfect (nobody makes perfect games) but in terms of overall value I get more out of bioware games than I do out of anyone elses games

I agree with this article. Just look at BSN. A ton of ingrates are here and complain on a daily basis.

That really applies to the DA2 section.

Definitely. Some of the things I've read (Not just on BSN) are completely shameful and disrespectful. It's one thing to offer constructive criticism. It's another to attack the developers and call for them to lose their jobs.

It lumps too much together. What they mentioned in the comments--someone trolling on Twitter--is very valid, but in the article it oversimplifies. I've noticed very little "calling names" or "personal attacks" or "bullying." Maybe it's just me (residing in ME3 Gen Discussion), but that seems a bit exaggerated.
HOWEVER, the basic idea is good.

I dunno, just because your critical doesnt instantly mean your an idiot and unappreciative of Bioware. That blog sort of says stop being critical of something you dont like. How can Bioware grow unless its stated otherwise?
We all post here because we love the games they create and want to make sure its up to the same standard as we usually expect. Some things can make us a little nervous and some things we want to leave feedback on.
Ok some people do go out there way to troll. But for most the fans they just want their opinions heard. Which is great that Bioware listen because it is rare in gaming. Maybe we should say thanks more often, but I think Bioware know on the most part the fans care enough simply by the way we all react. For better or worse at times.

It a good article...a reminder to us all....there is a big difference between constructive, helpful critisism and out right abuse and trolling.

I suspect the article was a troll plant by an EA henchman. EA is tired of being the bad guys and just wants us to focus on Bioware while they subvert the Steam near-monopoly.

Yes because DA2 wasn't a recycled money-grab who's target audience was loyal fans of the first game. What Bioware should be ashamed of is even letting a $60 price point even cross thier minds for what is DLC or expansion content, and that's being generous.
Otherwise I love Bioware, I spend my hard earned money on Bioware games, so yes I do have a slight feeling of entitlement especially for a $60 PC game.

I thoroughly agree with her. Opinions are great, and it's fantastic that Bioware is as open to their fans as they are. But Bioware isn't making a perfect game for each individual fan, and lashing out in anger over that isn't the way to go.
Reasonable discussion = yay!
Trolling = boo.

What a crock. Bring up any criticism, legitimate or not, reasonable or not... and the rabbid fanboys jump all over it. He's quick to give an example of what he considers "constructive" criticism... wish he'd do the same for the supposed abuse BioWare is receiving.

Umm anybody expecting reasonable civil discussion from everybody that uses the internet should go see a doctor and get some anti-depressants now since your just setting yourself up for a break down.
Even in real life we all know someone that takes the joke/discussion a little bit further than we want/would ourselves so expecting it NOT to happen on the internet where we all have the shield of anonymity is a fail.
I have read that having people use there real names rather than made up forum names on forums does remove some of the extremes so perhaps BW could look at that but the only way to totally eliminate it would be to have each post pre-moderated before it displays and i doubt we or BW would like/want that.
When it comes to DA2 i think there is fault on both sides, BW for hyping it so much (RPG of the decade with re-used maps?) and fans for taking it to extremes in posting there dislikes of it.
Creating the registered game board and EA's actions around banning people at the time of release did add quite a lot of fuel to the fire as well.
