I'll still safely assume VS/Liara/Vega can be at least 90% of the time in the squadmate.MACharlie1 wrote...

Sadly, this. I'm quite sure everyone else but those mentioned by the OP will be temporary squadmates only available for a mission or two.IsaacShep wrote...

And who'll entertain Shep's preferences during the remaining 10% of time? I hope he won't have to do it himself

he's been doing it himself for the past 2 games, he can survive 10% in ME3 xDInviolateNK wrote...

What I am not clear on is whether or not there will be a grand get together before the big battle that will allow you to team up with the entire team. I also assume there will be some romantic epilogue.
I would not be surprised if there will be future DLC adventures featuring different squad mates.

Legion for sure. Not enough face time in ME2. He's also too cool and popular NOT to include him.
Legion is not a single character, it was THOUSANDS within a single humanoid platform, and a massive Geth retcon for those who care about such things. I don't. If you like it, good for you.
I see it, or parts of it, joining in on the confirmed Geth vs. Quanari part of the game, but that's it except maybe for the end battle. As was the case of all the ME2 only characters, it can be dead in ME3, OR Shepard could have gotten some pocket money selling it to Cerberus.

Or not. For all we know, she could be anyone from perma squaddie to a random soldier in that ME3 live action trailer.Abispa wrote...
I am assuming that "the Vigilante" character will also be a major character.

How is Legion a retcon? It clearly states it's a unique geth platform specially designed for infultrating organic space and finding Commander Shepard and inform him/her of the heretic geth and help fight them. Also, it's 1,183, not thousands.
Stating a previously unknown fact isn't a retcon. Sovereign was never retconned into being a reaper just because we previously thought it was a reaper ship.

They orginally were, but BW eventually retracted that statement.

The only way I could see Legion being considered retcon is that throughout the first game they portray the Geth as one unit set that is ONLY interested in themselves/following the Reapers. Legion showing up willing to help you is like having a Pride Demon showing up in Dragon Age as a friend helping you or having a member of your party be a Darkspawn.Inutaisho7996 wrote...

Before the completion of Virmire, Sovereign was portrayed as a geth dreadnaught, but I don't think the revelation that it was a reaper can be considered a retcon.

Maybe those character will simply be there from the beginning until some big decision happens. Its easy to see how Tali could leave tge Normandy if you side with the geths or Garrus if you decide his homeland is the next best place for Reaper protein milkshakes.
Maybe you'll have to go around and recruit them again like the rest of the ME2 team.
I guess its still safe to assume these 5 will somehow get more exposure then the rest until we are given more information (of course more doesnt necessarly mean better).

With Legion you have characters played up as the big bad species in the universe that no one is supposed to like/get along with and then BLAM... apparently conveniently the thousands of Geth I blew up in the last game are just heretics. Wait, Legion... WHERE THE F*** WERE YOU NON HERETICS AT ****HOLES?!
That's how I felt at that point. I like Legion but God it was somewhat aggravating.

Garrus and his armor in ME2 made me so damn angry for a very bad reason.-Skorpious- wrote...
I'd say its safe to bet that Garrus is a prominent squadmate. Perhaps he won't be available for the entire game, but Garrus' complete redesign in armor (as opposed to Tali/Liara's repeat of their ME2 clothing) is a strong indicator that Garrus was given special attention in ME3.
You do the loyalty mission right... I was like "sweet, maybe he'll fix that bullet hole"
Press they 'Y' button..... color palette swap. WTF?! Rage quit (not really but still)

True. However I was mostly trying to convey that Bioware decided to give Garrus slick new armor as opposed to simply repairing his old Archangel suit; this confirms that the character is at least heavily involved in Shepard's squad.
