Sorry if this post is somewhere else. I'm going to be re-installing Windows and also formatting my hard drive. I've backed up my save games from ME1 and ME2. I'm done playing ME1, but haven't finished ME2. When I reinstall ME2, can I just place my ME2 save files in the save directory? Or do I have to go thru the process of uploading my ME1 save game then placing the ME2 save in the right directory? Either way is fine, just don't want to lose all the stuff from the ME1 save.

Copy the entire ME2 folder to save your achievements, but if all you really care about is saves, then you are fine ad is. To access the saves will require all currently used dlcs to be reinstalled, so you may want to back those dl files as well.

ok thanks....so i just need to copy the ME2 saves? the ME1 saves don't matter?

if you only copy the me2 folder then you will not have imports, if you copy both then you will have characters to import if you desire. Again it depends on what you want, personally I would copy both sets of saves if you don't care about achievements but want your me1 characters to import for new ME2 runs.
