Is the Mass Effect series like the Battlestar Galatic series by the story?

Not sure yet, still need to see if it completely falls apart at the end.
Hahaha, true! BSG became utter sh!t in the final season. Never had so much garbage shoved in my face.

It lacks sex-hungry blonde robots...so no. (But in all seriousness I don't think the story is anything like Battlestar Galactica and this is coming from someone who just finished watching all 4 seasons of the reimagined show plus Caprica..which I actually kinda liked even though it only lasted 1 season...it just never went anywhere)
I hope not, that would mean 2 seasons of awesome, combined with 2 more seasons of filler, nothing happening, and blatant social and political parables being shoved into the show each episode under the guise of story telling.
As for Caprica, it was just the most depressing show ever made. The gloom and depressing weight of that show, way overshadowed any interesting aspect of the show. Could have been a great show, minus the pure unending depression and every character being pretty much unlikeable.
Blonde sex hungry robots, I'm all for that if by that you mean seeing more of Tricia Helfer:)
This game is more like Babylon 5, definately not much like BSG, unless you think the whole game is about the Geth.

Regarding the OP's question, I'd say no since BSG had alot of divine intervention at play and ended with a gigantic question mark over one character's head and an all too convenient explanation for the colonials' willingness to just forsake their technology. Of course we'll see how ME3 ends as well.

I really thought they were going to delve into this after Sovereign's speech in ME1; it ended up just being metaphysical claptrap that sounded like they were trying too hard.marshalleck wrote...
Not really. It's distinctly lacking the metaphysical aspects.

IIRC, it just stated (rather arrogantly) the nature of the relationship between Reapers and organics from its perspective.
