As for the rumors marsh commented on before, "Arrival" was discovered through legitimate channels, being Dragon Age 2 boxes, and PS3 trophies. As for the "Prothean Mission Pack" and Aria's icon, we won't have any proof of that until ME3 actually launches. Aria is also something that only Chris has "commented" on and he's only gone so far as to say that he doesn't know but that we don't know either and shouldn't get our hopes too high up.
A typo so far as their web site designer is concerned isn't too surprising or out of the ordinary. David Silverman called the N7 Valkyrie the M-8 Avenger by accident, and he's a PR guy, not just a web site manager, or at best, whoever was in charge of deciding what they could reasonably include within the CE.
There's 3 "rumors" debunked from their "always true" status.

I merely pointed out a pattern of behavior on Bioware's part, which is to dodge and evade in creative amusing ways each time a new rumor pops up...without ever decisively saying anything.
And now that I've made that statement, I am almost 100% sure someone will cherry-pick an example to the contrary which I've forgotten. Let me have it, BSN.

I'd have to agree that they didn't explicitly say there won't be multiplayer. Which does not mean "we should assume it's in," but rather "we can't assume it's not." Not from this quote, anyway. It's the perfect example of empty dev speak designed to give them enough wiggle room to go either way and have it not contradict what they said.
Subtlety is lost on some poeple. I think to people like Phaedon, Atrieya, Mesina, etc. the bolded statements above are both saying the same thing.
I think what he said does leave room to maneuver, I do, and yeah, I'm landing on the unsubstantiated rumors are unsubstantiated side of things as being more probable than multi-player being in. Like I said earlier today (more or less), I'll be unrepentantly gleeful if the devs have been sneaky and multi-player ends up in the game if only because I know that some people will be apoplectic over it. EDIT: Also, I formatted a thousand-page behemoth the other day, so do forgive me if I have slightly lost my mind at any point.

Well, since we are talking about careful and subtle approach, I would recommend addition of at least one more option - "we can't assume it's in". And I would suggest to put it before "we can't assume it's not."
I mean, we have seen a developer saying that (current) claims that ME 3 will have a multiplayer are just rumors - i.e. unverified / unconfirmed claims. After somebody denies something (the accuracy / veracity of the claims), the first step should not be pointing out that such person has not ruled out the option completely and stick with that interpretation but rather focusing on what the person said and taking it into account for future guesswork.
Well, at least I find such approach more suitable because it is both more respectful to the person who contested the claims - Jesse Houston - (it's very likely that Jesse wanted us to stop basing our opinions on those claims rather than giving us a hint by not dissmissing the option of multiplayer completely) and more in accordance with "burden of proof" concept (as of now, it lies on those who claim something and want to convince others about it - ME 3 will have multiplayer - not on those who deny or simply don't believe it).

At no point in his statement does Jesse explicitly and unambiguously deny the inclusion of multiplayer. He just repeats what we've heard a thousand times already; Casey said the exact same thing less than a month ago.
No, Casey said that they've tried MultiPlayer since ME1 but it couldn't work without sacrificing content from the SinglePlayer, saying the same for ME3.

They're being too dodgy about this. It could be they finally found some way. You know EA. :/
I'm getting paranoid about this MP thing. justpleaseno.

That was at Comics Con. He said pretty much what Jesse remarked on Twitter around the same time.aridor1570 wrote...
